D8 playoffs

D8 playoffs started last night with South St. Paul playing Albert Lea and Inver Grove playing Lakeville.<br><br>Albert Lea beat SSP 3-0. SSP had won the previous 3 games against Albert Lea. Albert Lea moves on to play Hastings tonight<br><br>We (IGH) upset Lakeville 3-2. They beat us both times in league play by a score of 4-1. We shortened the bench last night and only played 2 lines and it worked. We jumped out 3-0 lead with 2 powerplay goals. Lakevilles #15 scored a goal with just over 2 minutes left and then another one off a weird bounce with 1 minute left. After the second goal they never got a chance to pull the goalie becauce the play never left their zone. We play Woodbury toonight now. <p></p><i></i>

Hastings beat Albert Lea 3-1 and IGH lost to Woodbury 5-0. So Woodbury plays Hastings for the Championships tomorrow.<br><br>On the losers side Albert Lea beat Lakeville 2-1 in a great game. <br>We (IGH) ended up playing SSP in a classic. We won a great one 3-2. So now IGH plays Albert Lea to see who will play the loser between Hastings and Woodbury for the second state bid. <p></p><i></i>

We lost to Albert Lea 2-0 in a good game. It was 0-0 going into the 3rd. They scored off a deflection by our Defenseman to break the tie. It was a pretty good finish for us. We went 1-12-1 in league play. But the kids played great in the playoffs. It gives us some hope for next year because we have most of the kids returning. <p></p><i></i>

Hastings won it all again. They beat Woodbury 2-1 in the championship. So Hastings gets the one of the bids for state. I dont know who got the second one. Woodbury and Albert Lea had to play for it yesterday and i havent heard anything yet from Albert Leas coach. <p></p><i></i>

The second bid for state goes too Albert Lea. They pulled off the upset over Woodbury 5-2. They had only 4 league wins but are playing their best when it matters most. So Hastings and Albert Lea will be going to state. <p></p><i></i>

I'm a player from the AL JR.GOLD team and yea we made it to state the 1st time in 15 years its fells awsome and its my last year playing so that fells even better that i get to go to state one year. i bet lot of people didnt think we could get this far. but hey we got there i know i rec isnt that great we came out 4-8-2 but 3 of them 8 los where with 30sec's on the clock then they score but im not sayin nothin i wins a win that whats counts.. lot of us (TEAM) have never playd with eachover in years and we have had 4 diferent goal's in the past 3 years. so it toke us sometime to get use to that im glad it happen in the playoffs. lot of people didnt think we would make it this far but we did.. just hope we can keep it gon in state.. the town as been doin good this year the Abam and lookin good for state and the highschool team got one more game left to get there. im just sayin my word's...
