Most improved women's college team?

Post by clueless »

I love this question that I saw on the USCHO web site. I thought I could make a comment on the WCHA teams and get people's opinions. Does coaching matter? :?: If it does how are Ohio State and Minnesota State going to improve if they have the same old coaches doing the same old thing. Look at how Mark Johnson turned around Wisconsin in two years. I think coaching matters and recruiting the best players matters. If I'm correct Minnesota State, North Dakota and Ohio State will stay right where they are and St. Cloud State, Bemidji State and Cornell will win 3-6 more games each this year.

Most Improved

Post by brookyone »

After some careful thought I voted for Yale. Really wanted to vote MSU-M and or SCSU but Yale has scooped up some very gifted recruits the last two / three classes, had more successful results in a similar time period and I think stand a good chance of marked improvement again in 2006-07. I feel much the same about both SCSU & MSU-M and I think anyone could easily justify a vote for either. Strictly within the WCHA I personally feel both the Huskies and Mavericks will be significatly improved...or clearly have that potential. Alot depends on staying healthy throughout the season. Between the two, I have to give a slight edge to SCSU...it's almost to close to call as they both have great frosh classes coming in. Gonna be very entertaining I think.

Mavericks just lost to an extremely good Whitecap team 1-0 in OT

Gophers vs. Whitecaps Exhibition

Post by brookyone »

Thought I'd toss this in here in case anyone is interested...and would enjoy a women's hockey fix after a long off season for fans. This Friday night, the 29th of Sep., the 2006-07 Minnesota Gophers will be playing the Minnesota Whitecaps in a pre season exhibition at Ridder Arena on the U of M campus. I'm told admission is free...game time is 7:00 PM. Loads of some of the worlds top talent on each roster which should make for an outstanding and entertaining contest.

This will be a great event, and I know that MSU & WC played last weekend (Sat) @ MSU and it was a 1-0 OT game? but WC were missing some players...

Most Improved Collegiate Team

Yes, I think BC is a real contender in a "most Improved" discussion. Allie & Anna provide the "O" in the Eagles opener.
