STA 7
Breck 2
I could also see STA giving the backup goalie a shot in the net. We shall see. Unfortunately in the past STA has been hurt by some teams that they should easily beat. There are some young players on the team and every game that they play is another test of their abilities, both mental and physical. STA needs to have fewer penalties and off sides calls. This is MN high school hockey and anything can happen so I could be wrong and Breck could come out with a big win. I doubt it though.

STA is just taking it one game at a time this year for that very reason, because they are so young. They have a lot of experienced talent, but a little more than a third of the team is new and young. I'm guessing if Crandall is shutting them out then he'll stay, but if STA is up by 4+ and they have been scored on, the back up guy could possibly play. I find it hard to be saying something like that about a team with a name like Breck though. So, we'll see.

STA is young but not inexperienced..
Having freshmen third and fourth line players does not really factor into the experience equation. Having nine returning varsity players who have played in the state tournament, of which three have played in two makes a bigger difference.... STA has big game mojo if you ask me.HShockeywatcher wrote:STA is just taking it one game at a time this year for that very reason, because they are so young. PS-How does STA drop in rankings without a loss and having played three teams originally ranked in the top 15. It only matters in March, for now simple mans fodder.

STA 6 Breck 1. All the imports in the world wont help em tonight.

crandall is a wall, people arent giving him what he deserves. The thing about him is that he has been known to let the easy ones slide and score on himself once, but when it comes down to crunch time, hes there making some of the sickest saves.
As for the backup ive heard from the cadets that he is very inconsistant and has been known to "zone out" Im sure he'll get alot of tips from Crandall this year and be decent his senior year, i believe he is a sophomore this year.

Here's how a team drops in ranking ON PS2:
PS2 is based on a rating system where everyone gets a number then the numbers are ordered, not a system where teams are stacked against eachother. After tonight's game against Breck STA goes on a 4 game stretch against weaker conference opponents. During this time they will probably win the games but their rating will not improve very due to the lack of difficulty of the opponents. While they are playing their easier teams, other AA teams out there will be playing tougher AA teams and their ratings will probably go up and exceed that of STA's.
I'm sure you were trying to make fun of me, but it's a math system, so it can and will probably happen unless they shutout their opponents by 10+ every game. Probably won't happen.

STA
I didnt need a frontal lobotomy anyways...
Cadets continue to ramp up their game. Schwans Cup is shaping up to very interesting. Crandall is playing at the top of his game in goal for STA.

Well, I was a little off on my 7-2 prediction. Crandall played much better than I expected. STA was able to slow things down a little bit tonight playing Breck. Lourdes, DM, and Red Wing were all much tougher games physically and much faster games. STA was able to spend a little more time on correctly executing plays and is starting to come together more as a team. STA played a much more calm and methodical game than in the previous three outings. Breck did not look bad, they were just out played mentally and physically tonight. STA plays SSP next at STA, that one should be a win. Then its on to Sibley at the horrid WSP arena. Then Simley at STA, this one hopefully will not end with a huge fight like last year. After those three they have Tartan which always manages to give STA some difficulty making for an exciting game. That game will hopefully help get them ready for the game against CDH at STA. After that difficult game they have two days off before playing Edina in the Schwanns Cup. Does anyone have any idea if STA has ever played Edina before and if so when?

STA underdog?
Are you saying STA is a underdog to Edina? This is based on what?HShockeywatcher wrote:That really should be a good one. But STA has a soft schedule leading up to it and Edina has a tough one. St Thomas will definitely be the underdog, but another solid performance by Crandall and we'll be fine.
