St Thomas @ Tartan 12/21

Post by HShockeywatcher »

Through the beginning of the season everyone was talking about how the Classic Suburban was between two private school teams. Now with Tartan doing so well against Hill, are they going to be in the run too?

How will St Thomas do in Oakdale?

i think this game will be a very fun game to watch! sta is very fast and very good but if tartan takes the body and works hard i think tartan can pull off the W. especially in their home rink.

Well, I started this because I thought they were overrated with a soft schedule to start the year too. But scoreboard-wise they had the best game any Hill Murray opponent has had so far this year. So, I'm wondering what others think.

This game should be a very good game, if tartan can take the body, and wood plays good, i think tartan can pull it off, especially since it is in there home rink

I said scoreboard buddy. They scored on Hill more than anyone except Johnson, but held them to less goals. I guess you could argue 1-2 is better than 2-4, not sure.

Can somebody please explain the fascination with Tartan on this board to me? I mean honestly...

They make 2 tourney appearances by winning a mediocre section, and once they get there, the win a total of 1 game. This team has done nothing of any substance, and they'll likely get to the section finals and lose to Cretin anyway.

Don't get me wrong, if you're a Tartan fan or student, that's great, and you should be a fan of your team, but it's ridiculous to talk about them as anything other than a good Section 2 team, and an average team in any other section. Like I say, they'll lose the Section 2 final if all goes well for them, and if by some miracle they make it out of the section, you can bet it'll be 2-and-out in the state tourney.

There is good hockey outside of Oakdale people. And congrats on losing to H-M...

Stay on topic buddy. This isn't even about section play, or comparing with another AA team.

Not to burst anyone's bubble or anything, but St Thomas is not known for being big. Sure they get hits in here and there, but they are a small, quick team. Playing to body doesn't usually work too well against a team like them. Good luck trying though.

i hear that out of HM and STA that STA is the better team. faster, stronger and quicker with the puck, the titans will defenitly have to bring the same game they brought to hill murray and thensome, but if everyone on the team is ready to skate and wood comes up big again i dont see why the titans couldnt pull it off....

i think one of the biggest fascinations with the titans on this board is the lack of respect that people gave them going into the season. now that they have an impressive 7-2 record beating teams like madomehti and rochester, and giving hill murray a pretty good game , people are starting to develop a bit of interest, thats what i think.

I don't think there is any interest in them. They are the 2nd best team in a weak conference so when that get talked about they do too, and they are only being talked about because this could be a pivotal game in the outcome of the CSC. If you read what I wrote in the opening of this, you'd know that.
