Hibbing @ Cloquet 1-20-07

Post by HShockeywatcher »

A day after the Hibbing Bluejackets (14-2) play Grand Rapids away, they play the Cloquet Lumberjacks (13-1) who will have a two day rest from playing Proctor. A win by Hibbing would be great for their Class A rankings, while a loss by Cloquet would hurt them badly.

it would be nice to see hibbing get the win but i just don't think that is gonna happen, especially after playin rapids the night before. i believe cloquet is too strong but hopefully hibbing can keep it close and maybe pull off a win..

I'm goin with..
Cloquet 5
Hibbing 3

One thing to keep in mind is that Cloquet got shut out by Rapids. Obviously they have the upper hand here, but would it change people's minds if Hibbing beats Rapids?

Why would Hibbing schedule both of these games right after one another?

i believe they played back to back games at home against rapids and cloquet last year.. might just be to give the team some experience playing back to back games against two very strong hockey teams to get them ready for the playoffs and possibly state.

hibb vs cloquet

Post by Jacketfan06 »

As bad as i would like to see hibbing win, i dont think its going to happen.. with back to back games against probabaly the strongest two teams in 7aa it will be a real test..Marchuk will have to be almost perfect in goal and HIbbing will have to capitalize on every opportunity they get. and they need to stay out of the box.. thats what is going to hurt them one of these games. I'm taking cloquet 5 to 3 but im hoping the jackets can pull out a w in this one

Thread was starting to slip down the ranks... Should be an interesting game tonight with the Jackets skating to a tie last night with GR.

im going with Hibbing on this one, i think Hibbing will come out with more Passion, Gritt and Hunger than Cloquet will expect.

Cloquet needs to get their swagger back and this might be just the game to do it. Hibbing is a strong Class A team which the Jacks should not take lightly. A loss to Hibbing could prove fatal for Cloquet as I feel they need to get back into the win column versus a legitimate team (Beating Proctor will not do that).
I think they will come back strong and win this one 5-2.

No score after 1. Sounds like Hibbing had the better of the play in the first.
