Tonka @ Edina 1-27-07

Post by tonka07 »

Big game at Braemar today at 7:00, Edina coming off of two games in two nights, this will be their third in three nights, with a win over Cloquet last night, Minnetonka coming off of a 6-0 win over Robbinsdale-Armstrong on thursday. Who do you like?

the game is actually at 7:30 but it should be a good game. Big game for both teams for conference and section seedings

I'm gonna go with
Tonka: 4
Edina: 3

I'm booking on Edina being tired after last nights win to Cloquet! Back to back nights versus two good teams is very difficult.

Minnetonka is good, but Edina is better.

The right wing on the Edina sophmore line supposedly got a concussion last night. I was there but did not see this happen. I did notice that he was on the bench for most of the third period. Ï agree that Edina may be tired and banged up going into there 3rd game in 3 nights (Hopkins, Cloquet, Tonka).

I was there last night and thought Edina looked sharp, but not as sharp as they did against CDH in the Schwan's cup. Three in a row is tough, but so is Edina. I posted in another thread that if Edina loses to CEC then they beat Tonka, but if they win the game against CEC Tonka will be tough. Hard to pick the fors sure winner, but I can see Tonka up a little and could pull out the win....Should be fun to watch. I won't be there, I am next door at Richfield.

Game prediction

6-3. Tonka's goalie is slow and Benilde exposed their greatest weakness three weaks ago - their defensemen. If Edina's forwards don't have that extra jump because of three straight games, then Tonka can make this close or even win it.

Still . . . I stand by 6-3 (empty net).

Edina-5 and
Minnetonka-3

Edina played three games in a row at the Schwans, and killed Cretin on the third day, I wouldn't be suprised if there was a same result here, just no blow out.

good point. People are saying that playing three days in a row will hinder them, but almost half the schools that play in the MSHSL play in a tournament over break. Not a huge difference. Teams practice daily. I really don't think playing games so often would hinder you that much.

Agreed... I was at the game last night and Edina is a very strong team. Reber is the real deal & #22 looked real good, anybody know anything about him?

Tie 3-3...Connor Gaarder gets 2 and Everson gets 1. You have to give Edina some credit playing two games in a row, and tieing a good team. Minnetonka played a great game too, with an impressive powerplay. I think if it comes down to it in the end of the season I'd take Edina.

Well, considering they are in the same section, we may see that.

They played three games in a row.

yea i think it was good for edina 3 games in a row so if they get to the state tourny they will know what its kind of like but id take edina next time they had some good chances in the third and there goalie came up big a couple time to keep them in it
