niedermeyer and martin are both 6-0 or 6-1 and around 200 lbs. no they dont play physically imposing styles but they have the bodies to take ever other shift punishment over 100 game seasons. thats why ness isnt projected higher IMO. neidermeyer scored 82 points in 57 in the whl during his draft yr...

Re: Man amongst boys?
He may have the skill, but I don't see that many 5'9" defensemen doing wonderful things in the NHL or college hockey for that matter. Yes he is a wonderful high school player, probably the best in the state, but I'm not going to crown him just yet. Keep in mind that he's only 16, right? He sti...

Ness is great to watch, he's gott'in a lot better since last year. Reminds me of Larry Olimb, but Ness is a little more physical. I agree. When he has the puck, there's a buzz in the crowd....just like how Olimb had the crowd buzzing in '87 . Very similar players....both play defense, both see the ...

Great post TT....That's 10, which is the biggest verified number we've seen...and Grand Rapids with 9, Roseau with 9 and Jefferson and H-M not far behind....Anyone have a solid list for Edina? Or Warroad? Warroad..has at least three. Henry Boucha Dave Christian Chad Erickson (got called up ahead of...

You people from Roseau are unbelievable.....how you rip your coaches who just won state titles. I remember when you ran Bruce Olson out the year after he won the state title, and now you're complaining about Oliver? I swear that the people of Roseau and White Bear Lake have to have the worst hockey...

You know what is even funnier...When I was at home I was talking to a few of the players and I heard that Billy yells at Oliver about who he should play and who he should not. Search the name Lundy aka Goon he hit the nail on the head last year when he was telling everyone how this con-artist Olive...

The only quality outstate players Woog got to come here were Olimb (Warroad), Gernander (Greenway), Stauber, Wyatt Smith (Warroad), Spehar (Duluth East), Doug Zmolek (Rochester JM), and Ryan Kraft (Moorhead)......and ALL of those player played great on television in the State Tournament. All the whi...

Re: List
Nice list iceberg...I'll repeat another post's score... NCAA championships Doug Woog-0 Don Lucia -2 I'm not sure how that relates to the question of Woog never recruiting out of the metro area. You could certainly add that in on a discussion of did he recruit the right players, but that wasn't the ...

The U always seems to recruit the same kind of players every year. The soft, fast finesse players. Leddy from EP is a great example of this. He is an extremely talents and fast play who would rather stick handle that hit someone. The U has always brought in and recruited those types of players and ...

Re: Back to Topic
Byfuglien is truly a scouting find. Here is a kid who did not play highschool or college, drafted in the 8th round(245 overall) and is currently an impact player in the NHL. His potential is still on the rise, as he gains experience and "savy" on the ice, his game will only get better. He...

i know this the lordabeckie twins from baudette in the 80's were the cheapest players i ever saw. they were just like the hanson brothers. they lost every game and all they cared about was hurting somebodey.. I remember playing against them. They were big, cheap, and loved it. I don't remember them...

yeah if you didnt piss him off he'd just lean on yeah while your face was stuck to the chicken coop wire in the old bemidji rink he'd take the puck. however if you were out on the ice throwing cheap shots you might become part of that chicken coop wire permanently. they had to stop a game in the st...
