It is painfully obvious that Roseville is a completely different squad without Stecklein and Flug... Oh ya, I can see how it would be tough to compete with only a All state goalie and three othe D1 committed players. Puts in perspective what WBL is missing with the loss of Hansen. Does anyone know ...

I actually see this list as good as any. Remember, with any list who do you take off to add? Not to mention there are players that did not make any list that are just as worthy. Here are a few I could easily see there. Stoltz, Peake – Moundsview Sparks – Eagan Eder Zedlick – Stillwater Evenson –Rose...

After the first time these two teams met (Bears win), Stillwater coach was reported in the local rag as stating that they basically loss the game because of poor play on their part. Giving no real credit to White Bear Lake. It would be interesting to read his take after this one.

WBL 9 Mounds View 1

Wow, what happen? Didn’t MV beat Roseville?
And this with no scoring in the 3rd period.
WB must have shown the mercy that MV failed to do against Century. 8)

I don’t see as many games as I use to, but try not to miss this one. Decent game but not great given the circumstance. I thought the game was very even with the Hill goalie being the slight difference. White Bear had the greater number of scoring chances but Hill made the most with theirs. It’s obvi...

Most school don’t play 7th and 8th graders (regardless of their abilities), and for good reason. Not many have the skill or the mental and physical maturity to be true contributors to a program. It’s a big jump, and if you haven’t been exposed to the speed or physicality of the varsity game (AAA lea...

Ok Oilers08, maybe they didn’t miss the mark but they defiantly strayed a little from center. Passages from the original “Let’s Play Hockey” article; The Upper Midwest High School Elite League was formed in 2001 to help the top elite players reach their optimal development by the end of their high s...

Point well taken, and please take my comments for what they are. I am no way suggesting that these 7 players don’t have the skills to be in this league. Obviously they do by the production. I just feel that this could be a nice platform for the upper classman. The younger players will get their chan...

After you lay this out and look at the numbers (thank you Joe), and then after stepping back and looking at the full scope of it, what would have been the harm in subtracting those 7 sophomores and freshmen (a mere 12%), and keep it as advertised? Granted you may not have assembled the best teams po...

In my opinion it’s Stillwater and Roseville again until someone proves otherwise. WBL and MV are at the next level down. WBL has talent no doubt; they will have two solid lines and two top end defensemen, but will go to battle with two inexperienced and unproven goalies. FL, Woodbury, Cretin, Hastin...

Although I agree with the both of you on these players (they would be relatively safe in booking their flight to NY), but let’s be careful about referring to 14-15 year old kids as a complete player. None of them have a complete game…yet.
