continuing the thought

one thing to think about neutral site locations, it is a way to generate both revenue for a school and get more people to the game. here is a thought on this. If two metro schools end up playing in St. cloud, the schools get 200 tickets to sell to the kids, include busing in the cost of the ticket, ...

possible solution

have cities bid on hosting a section final, that way your location is neutral. you could allow the top seeded teams to pick their location based on their finish. example: the number one team in the state left playing picks which location they want to play at, next team 2 goes, and on down. That way ...

i totally agree

Goaltending is the area that must be seen to evaluate. If a college is looking for goaltending they will assess the player over a several games and watch to see what the girl's strengths and weaknesses are. It is easier to tell a goal scorer by looking at goals scored on the Hub. Quality players sho...

take it from me....

I have my level 5 USA hockey coaching certification, and i would rather have a group of girls willing to learn stick handling and passing, rather than having a group of boys that feel that these things aren't something they need to learn or improve on. Ask any of the coaches that just finished the U...

Section 6AA, Who wins?

Just curious to see what everyone thinks of this section.
Is it Minnetonka?
BSM have a strong chance?
How far does Hopkins fall?
North Metro, Buffalo, others have a chance?

Has anyone contacted the coaches or AD at Hopkins. I would think that the AD at Hopkins would make sure to do the proper thing and check all the bases for these kids moving in. Especially since there is no love loss between the High School league and Hopkins. Rumors are just that, rumors. I have hea...

Every coach knows about this stuff, they are contacted about it by the GM as a reminder to each coach to nominate as many players or even all the players that fit into that age group. It is up to the HS coach to make sure to get all his players nominated. If he didn't, call him on it, also I called ...

Not to change the subject but if the boys thursday games are on tv and one team manages 4 shots for the GAME, why can't the girls have thursday tv time. I know it is because of cost, well, someone should look into it. I would agree that more section final games should be on tv. Fox covers the boys g...

I have to sort of agree with Chickendance. I wonder if some of our kids that are seen at a young age get labeled as a certain type of player. "Not aggressive, maybe a poor corner person, etc." Do the evaluators change from year to year? If not, it is natural for some bias to come into play...

Best Girls Rivalries

I am looking for opinions on what are the best rivalries we have in the state as it relates to girls hockey. It can be based on Fan support, history, or even that their games have been close and well played. Also, the best arena food!

Sorry, just making an observation. I am just a dad that was excited to see such good hockey. Don't know any of the kids just saw some wonderful skills that day during phase 2. Congrats to all the kids that made it to phase 3 and hopefully they all did well.

Erika

I was at the Phase 2 tryouts and she does have some great ability. She is somewhat raw when it comes to positioning and ice sense, but her skating and hustle is outstanding. She definitely has college hockey potential and appears to be very coachable. I would not on the other hand say she is better ...
