Frozen Four on Friday
Minnesota advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four with a 4-0 victory of Princeton last night. They will meet New Hampshire, the nation's #1 team in one national semifinal at Mariucci. The game time is yet to be announced (4 or 7), but I'm guessing the Gophers will be the evening game. The Wildcats are supp...

Field for NCAA Frozen Four
The trouble is, at this point we don't know what teams will reach the Frozen Four. I don't think teams like New Hampshire, St. Lawrence, and Mercyhurst have Minnesota players on their roster. <p></p><i></i>

Reduced Price Admission to Frozen Four for HS Teams
I assume that HS coaches have already been notified of this opportunity for their teams to attend the Women's D-I Frozen Four at Mariucci at a reduced rate, but just in case, here's an excerpt from the Gophers' notes for the WCHA tourney:<br><br>"NCAA FROZEN FOUR TICKETS SPECIAL<br>The Universi...

Who Would You Add?
hockeyparent1, Name the players that you would like to see added to the list. ghshockeyfan provided a list as a starting point. It is natural that he would tend to name players with whom he is most familiar. Others, like you, need to supply any he may have omitted. <p></p><i></i>

Stillwater vs E.P. Reviews
Based on the MSHSL procedure as posted by hockeyday, I see no specification for disallowing a goal if a hand pass occurred earlier in the flow of play. I also see no mention in the procedure of allowing a second review after the official points at the face off dot. IMO, Stillwater's second goal shou...

Game Atmosphere
SSP and NSP met in an evening quarterfinal the first year that the event was held at Ridder. I thought that game had excellent atmosphere, because both teams had large cheering sections and the arena was nearly full.<br><br>If we can get 5,000 people in the crowd at Xcel, I'd imagine that would be n...

Improvement of WCHA Teams
I agree that UND will continue to improve -- they have some talent in place already. I think that one could make a case for any team in the league that they are moving in the right direction. But I still believe that for the forseeable future, teams like Wisconsin, UMD, and Minnesota will contend fo...

Tough One
ghs, Didn't see your JV game, but your kids seemed to lose a little steam as the game went along. Gave a good effort though. Had some nice flurries down the stretch, but the puck didn't go in for them -- that one shot looked like it hit the goalie's mask, or you would've been spared OT. <p></p><i></i>

Is your Saturday game at home at 3? (if I read the schedule correctly) I've got a pretty full weekend already, but I'm going to make an attempt to catch your skeleton crew in action. <p></p><i></i>

Crime and Punishment
IMO, It is pretty tough to send a message to students that you do not tolerate certain behavior if the only punishment is a warning. Players lost 2 to 4 games of their season -- I doubt anyone will be scarred for life from the suspensions. But maybe some will reflect on their actions and realize tha...

USA Women's Team vs. Warroad HS Boys
Why is this game taking place? Because Team USA wanted a game against competition, and somebody from Warroad was willing to provide it. This is all about an attempt to garner a gold medal, nothing more. Playing against a bigger/faster team will help the national team prepare for the speed of the gam...

Stir',<br><br>You are correct, and the longer Saturday's game went, the worse it got. The seniors were as bad as anyone. Former Minnesota HS Players
brooky, I think it was the other way around on Nelson -- played Sat, not Fri. Wisco had Kayla Hagen skating with their top forwards, Bauer and Sharon Cole (a former Bloomington Jeff. product) for much of the weekend, but not by the end of Sunday's contest. I believe Keseley was on an all rookie line...

Somewhere we had a discussion about when the next Natalie or Krissy would come along. While we wait, I'm very happy to watch the current Gigi. Nice start by Maggie Fisher in Erie as well. <p></p><i></i>

The Pitfalls of Online Communication
Hubbaa, I didn't mean that you were unfair. This forum wants a subject, and half of the time I don't know what to put in that field. In any case, enjoy your SSP season. They are in a similar position as the Gophs this year -- no longer the big favorite, just another team in the hunt. <p></p><i></i>

Unfair?
hubbaa, While I'd tend to agree with you that A.T. is the top player going into her senior season, I can also relate to what 411 is saying. By using all caps on "THE", I took it to mean that someone could have a differing opinion on who the top player is, and it isn't an open and shut case...
