just reviewing the sophomore names it seems to list the majoity of sophomores who played regular roles on their varsity teams. i see a few i personally know who played only JV. the JR / SR group, probably to many other elite options or Junior tryouts so the higher end players by-pass this tournament...

past reviews on the Gopher State, from my experience, is that the Sophomore group is a strong tounament with most the top 10th grade players in the state, partly due to theres not much else out there comcentrating on this age group. all these type of tournaments are more for fun and the experience r...

regardless of how some may think he picks his team, or recruits or what ever. the original Post was a Congratulations on 500 wins. thats a lot of hockey, a dedication and an accomplishment. just a guess, but i would think over 50% of todays high school coaches are far from having close to 500 Games ...

Its like a Starbuck coffee, Pleasure! not driven by cost. the cost of $195 is for Fun, Freinds, Entertainment. These type of tournaments are not value driven. If your player is given the opportunity to play in a tournament such as this just have fun. My son played in this last year. he met great kid...

Re: Coaches, does this make sense?
[I also have them do a pre-game warm-up, yup, the same one each time, before practice too. Consistency and repetition builds familiarity and bonding... You should see how much they interact when they do the warm-up... All good in my mind. Just another point of view. 8)[/quote] I agree with this part...

Coaches, does this make sense?

They have to dress up to show up to the arena, walk in the door, go to the locker room then change into sweats to do pregame stretching :) her son's in 6th grade :) is it just me or is this comical? is this a bit overkill. I understand h...

I agree with the last 2 posts. very good comments. My two boys are out of youth hockey now, but in the past when my kids have had Non Parent coaches; their commitment level is not as high as a parent coach. One of my sons coaches had a elementary school daughter, so every time one of her activities ...

They also look at WHO the teams Lost to. Review the teams in question and see who they lost to, and compare that to overall state rankings. Rankings are just an opinion, a win or two against a higher ranked team does not automatically make a team move up in the standings. over all schedule difficult...
