Wayzata vs EP in the AA championship. Are they not the to biggest schools in mn? 3,000 + students. Not fair, they should move up to the USHL! Two Biggest schools in minnesota, probably the only two schools in the state that can't sell out their share of tickets for the X. Ep is brutal in that regar...

I thought Edina was very "opportunistic" last night. I certainly don't think they dominated play. I think they just took advantage of a couple of rebounds and finished, and EP didn't look like they had much flow. I also think it was funny how many times the net came off, especially in the...

Penalties and goaltending will determine the winner. MG goalies have been struggling a bit lately, but have too much talent to be dismissed.

Wayzata to the left. SLP advances. MG and Wayzata battle it out for #2 seed to Regions (assuming they can both win their next game). We've played both of these teams. With no Fair Play Points to protect the smaller goal scorers, this will be a VERY different game than the shellacing OMG took during...

Re: Best First Year Bantam A in the State

Zach Yon #10 from Roseau, is far and away the best first year bantam in the state this year! IMO it's not even close. I agree with that and I haven't even seen him play this year. I know that sounds like a dumb comment, but based on his size and skills from last year's state Peewee tournament, he h...

Tell me what u would consider north? Before u do I'd like to note I wasn't directly talking about brainerd, the style of play up north is a heck of alot more physical than the southern play. Back to the other part, brainerd is considered north in highschool hockey there pal compare how many teams t...

I was also at the game and definitley thought the puck went in for a Wayzat goal, as did several people around me. We were close to the goal line, and it looked like it crossed the line into the net and was batted back out.

Re: Private School Recruitment Witnessed?

Can anyone give us ONE example of a Private School coach or administrator being present at a Bantam Hockey game and then approaching a player/parent and saying "you/your son needs to come to Holy Smokes High School" I don't think it's that blatant. It's more like you get a letter asking yo...

I don't think youcan use high school enrollments to compare youth programs i.e. Eden Prairie and Wayzata, you'd have to compare the 6th and 7th grade enrollments. Some schools grow, some stay the same, and some lose. From what I understand EP is no longer growing which is part of the reason they wo...

Lets keep this real simple. If you are going to evaluate associations based on performance, you judge them on wins and losses. Done. If you are going to adjust for wins and losses based on how many kids play in the association versus how many play in a different association than you need to give as...

I think the scores were:

Thunder bay win over EP 5-4
Thunder Bay win over Elk River 4-1
Thunder Bay loss to Wayzata 6-2

This was from their website.

Maybe if the Mega associations ran two sets of A teams at the youth levels, they would retain more of their own kids long term instead of pushing talented kids who don't grow early or who aren't beautiful cone skaters towards BSM, Blake, Breck, Cretin, Hill and AHA. I think this is especially true ...

In EdinaRumors' defense, there is at least one very large association which has won state titles recently that doesn't pre-select the pre-skate. They offer a clinic that anyone can sign up for (and pay for) that does essentially the same thing as this private pre-skate. The kids who show up are mos...
