Create more touches, skill development and fun

One huge improvement MN Hoc could adopt would be modified tag-up off-sides at the PW and lower levels. From the extensive work USA Hoc and the NHL have conducted on cross ice and 1/2 ice play, taking out the blue line or reducing the amount of stoppages during a game adds to player touches, playing ...

Season starts - Scores

Thought I'd share scores of a few JrG games I saw this weekend. JGB level; Edina over MG 5-2, or 3.. Had to leave b4 over, MG jumped to 2-0 lead, Edina comeback aided by pp goals while MG took penalty after penalty.. N Metro v NSP 7-0 Completely dominated by NMetro, NSP only has 1 team and might hav...

What's up with two teams from the same district (playing twice in district play-offs for seeding), then ending up in the same region to play-in??

Surprised the retired engineers running the show don't have them playing each other in the first round @ State too!!

From the top down

Watching the Aves v Wild game, there were more CFB, charges, and crosschecks than any Junior, College, HS or youth game I've ever seen, coached, reffed, or played in (not NHL)... But the NHL is so interested in calling non-aggressive, non-play affecting obstruction hooks and holds, it's a joke. Some...

XL - Rec league?

Are these leagues the same? If so why post a JrGold msg when from what I can see this league only has U11 (PW) and U14 (Bantam) age groups?

Heard pray tell, Maple Grove looking for another girls coach, would be 3rd in 4 years?? Rumors have previously fired coach (Koltes) may come back from stint @ Rogers...?

Maybe they should just hire someone from the Booster club??!!

Having watched the girls 19UB State Tournament @ Braemar last weekend, it would appear the League provides opportunities for a varied age and skill level of players. From the less skilled over aged 14U player to former Varsity studs. Granted (&hopefully) many of the higher skilled HS players mov...
