Big, smooth and blond:

Blond??? since when, I've seen him....

Mom - definitely...

I wish him the best. Hopefully he makes it and doesn't need to fall back on a higher education.

I am having difficulty figuring out why the current date of July 1 is so difficult to live with. Our association has given the kids who fall July 1 - start of school the ability to play with their grade if that is what they chose. It is not a huge number of players who fall into this category. Add i...

I think you can add Wayzata to the list. I was told by a Wayzata parent that their head coach resigned last week.

D10's ADV 15 process is really getting hammered on this forum and on the girls side. Both call out politics. This year is different from previous years for this level. Greybeard acknowledged that more kids are being given an opportunity to "make it" than in the past in this new structure. ...

I may be able to get to the 8PM game on Friday. Can you buy tickets at door? I have a daughter (who is begging to go) participating in ADV 16 tryouts this weekend and the tryouts somewhat conflict with the timing of the games. I checked online and can buy the package but with timing will only be abl...

Was at this game. Would be interested to find out if Cougar bench was warned prior to OT as I noticed too many men on ice during 3rd period a few times and not called. Forwards were coming off bench way too early and those going to bench lolly gaging because they were tired and possibly on too long ...

From MN Hockey website based on revised participation rule: 4. Players waived for non-school attendance reasons shall be subject to the receiving association's policies in accordance with MH governing documents (e.g. may not be eligible for "A" team, may be assigned to lowest available tea...

There is a league for HS girls to continue playing hockey. MN Hockey has a 19U league that is run through the associations much like Jr. Gold. There are a few metro teams participating but it would be great if there were more teams. As the number of girls playing the game increases maybe there will ...

Early roster sign off is not always a simple matter. I encourage you to discuss the paperwork side of things with your registrar. Most of the paperwork for the players is handled at registration but coaches are often responsible for holding up the process by not completing theirs. A smaller associat...

Greybeard, I have commitments for both Saturday and Sunday that affect my attendance at the meeting. I could come on Friday night. Would it be beneficial? Unfortunately there is no easy answer here. For my kid, we played youth through 9th grade and will now start our HS experience with 10th grade. Last seasons 14U team would have been better off if 3-4 of her classmates had not jumped to the HS team. Our HS coach would have preferred them not to come ...

Lets just say it may be impossible to track and easier to just sign them up no questions asked. School records are not public as are those that are tied to residences and real estate taxes. Big associations will pull their hair out while smaller associations will have an easier go as long as they do...

I also had a previous commitment and couldn't attend. I did voice my opinion to my DD since I would not be there.

Fred, I'm not sure what you wanted them to do. I read lots of you posts and find them very good. But all the talk of legal issues on this post is making my head hurt.

Greybeard or Elliott,

Care to share any insights on the participation rule/vote in St. Cloud? Also, any news on redistricting from the meeting? I am interested in hearing both of your takes from the weekend.

Thanks.

If you think some associations are not happy places to be now, just wait till little johnny doen't make the A team because a kid from two cities over was given the slot. Maybe his Uncle is the A coach, maybe not. Interesting and very true statement. Community hockey becomes something else when elig...

Okay, be nice since this is my first post. Have read the Board but have never participated. I think this proposal starts us down a slippery slope. I had hoped that it would put teeth into the current rule and not allow for DD & Assn Presidents to work around it (as some not all currently do). Ou...
