Royal Dad, I feel for you and agree that anything can happen in one elimination hockey game. It isn't always the best team advancing, and it needn't be called choking when a favored team loses. That being said, it was a little bit satisfying to see two Lake conference teams go down in the very first...

From 2007-2010 Section 4AA won 3 State Championships. The year they didn't win it the representative from 4AA took eventual champion EP into 2 overtimes before losing 2-1, and then won the 3rd place game. During that 4 year span the section was 11-1 at state and the conventional wisdom said the sect...

I don't have time to look up all the numbers, but off the cuff I'd say EastRidge, Jefferson, RedWing, Wayzata, Hopkins, Andover, MoundsView, and ForestLake have all cranked it up a notch or two over last year.

I don't think you have to be a swami to figure that. But I'll say that Red Wing will at least be able to score vs. Warroad. It's hard to tell about RW though because they play such a crappy schedule--we won't see them really tested until Dec 15 against Blake. And why doesn't RW play Chaska if they'r...

The recent experience in the boys' program at Roseville should make you realize the high turnover isn't a surprise. In fact, 1/6 seems low--there will be more by October. Even if there are only one or two rotten apples in every barrel of parents, they can make a coach's life miserable.

It will take time for Park to move conferences. Classic Suburban is sitting with 9 schools already and maybe they don't want them. Unless enrollment declines, Park will still have to play up the AA hockey tier. Isn't Park is the last of 32 team 6A football conference. Ouch. Every one of these sente...

A man has to listen to his stomach. Also, I've noticed when I'm at the X for the session, it's a 4 hour gig probably. The X is much better for moving around, seeing the sights, and just a generally more pleasant experience (and of course the concessions). Ridder might have a little better of an atmo...

What did it was seeing the final ranking with HM and BSM still #1 and #2. I know this has no bearing on anything, but it's kind of odd that HM and BSM outshot Roseville and Minnetonka by similar margins: HM 29-16 BSM 26-15 I think all four of these teams are pretty even with one another, but as we ...

OK how about this one? You say that one game can't change the rankings. I'll say that one game had a huge influence on the way the rankings went all year--Anoka beating Mtka in the first game of the season. Anoka's points got a big boost I suppose, and that filtered down to each team who beat or tie...

Wait just a minute ghshockeyfan. If KRACH is based on who has beaten whom, then aren't your top 4 ranks failing miserably? And if it's geared toward figuring who would beat whom in a future matchup, then it has failed just as miserably...... And it really penalizes teams that have 2, that's right, n...

Yes, that was the point--if Irondale and MV were on opposites sides they would now be meeting in the Section final. Meaning both would have beaten all the NWC teams. Get it? Except Irondale got eliminated by MV....

It's now official that the title of this thread will be nominated for the Preposterous Statement of the Year Award. They are really lucky that Irondale and Moundsview were on the same side of the bracket or the NWC wouldn't even have a team left in the Section finals.

Must have been a very emotional win for the Saints last night in the opening round of Section 4A, knocking off #2 seed and Tri-Metro rival SPU in the second overtime. Julia Carle came up big with 48 saves, including 12 in OT. There might be a better freshman goalie in the state but I haven't heard o...
