Re: Never too early for rankings…

I don't think this is a one answer fits all scenario but do see more and more US players (Mn players included) heading to the CHL but only time will tell. Sure, but there are only so many spots. Malachi McKinnon & Poul Anderson are having great years for Sherwood Park. Why weren't they on Fargo...

According to Lou on KFAN yesterday they are going to use Gorg, Parrish and Clymer to take his spot.

Can someone smarter than me come up with these numbers For each town playing in the state, list the number of kids that moved into their program after Bantams For the private schools, list the numbers of kids that played for another high school team before transferring to said private school It wou...

Regarding Rock Ridge it looked like Andover worked up a number 6 on them.

I have a hard time believing BIG has a larger capacity than Braemar. Perhaps those numbers are according to the Fire Marshall. I swear, 90% of a Fire Marshall's job is to prevent people from going to sporting events. The numbers for BIG that the city puts out is the spectator capacity of the entire...

As a supporter of the women's game, I've been to the semifinals and finals probably a dozen times, I've never seen the lower bowl close to half full. I went to a number of State Tournaments when the girls played at the Colloseum. The night 1999 when Krissy Wendell's Park Center team played South St...

I thought I remembered it being a Blake parent, but I think the point remains. I used to think it was ridiculous with the empty building & thought it should be at Ridder, but it doesn't bother me anymore. Xcel is the pinnacle arena to play at in the state, so I got no problem with it being the ...

What does the Xcel charge for the girls state tournament? I get that it wouldn’t be fair to move just the girls, but what do they get, 1-2k fans a game? Looks like maybe 500 people for the Farmington/Edina game. I believe the MSHSL got sued (and lost) back in the early 2000s because they played the...

Re: The good old days

I don't think HS hockey in Minnesota has faded in popularity. Arenas are still packed for big games, there is excitement and people seem to be engaged. What does seem to have faded in popularity is bantering with strangers about it. I do feel like there's just a desire to consume content rather tha...

Perhaps the Game of the Day was Duluth Marshall and Forest Lake in 7AA. Duluth Marshall came back from a 5-1 deficit to beat Forest Lake 6-5. I agree. By the scores of some of these games, they were on running time not more than half way through. During the regular season I suppose one or both of t...

I don't follow girls basketball. 😉
Isn’t that what you played in high school?
What makes you think girls basketball was even a sanctioned sport when I was in high school?
Was it 6v6 with 3 forwards and 3 defenders who each had to stay on their half of the court?

EP hangs onto win 6-5 over Shakopee. Not the prettiest game, but the Eagles have two straight quality wins. Fun game to watch. Shako battles back from 4-1 to make it a game before EP puts it away. EP needs to stay out of the Box (no pun intended), but I like their physical, aggressive play. A solid...

"They" would tell you that the increased import limits raises the level of play in the league and is better for development. I agree with you though, takes development opportunities from American born players. Maybe fewer spots open will mean more kids will stay home and play MSHSL hockey.
