Why do they have tryouts when they know, for the most part, who they're going to choose? Didn't the players have to pay MN Hockey to tryout. . .? As usual, when in doubt, follow the money.

I didn't see the first period, but in the second and third, I was surprised, especially when Tonka was down, that Urick ran all three lines as much as he did. They all looked strong in the third. Also, he put some young kids on the penalty kill who did an outstanding job against a solid power play. ...

Couldn't agree more. From what I saw Thursday, the D were a big disappointment. There seemed to be little effort to win the race to the puck in the defensive zone, and Wayzata skated pretty freely through the neutral zone. The forwards did little to help out. Couldn't agree with you more. I saw Tonka play Edina in the Schwans final and saw the Tonka D take over with physical play and a killer instinct. I saw them play Wayzata at Pagel this past Thursday and saw none of it. For their size and supposed skill, the Tonka D were way too passive. They lost too...
