I think Ilbok realized Wisconsin high school hockey looks like a beer league compared to Minnesota. And he thought it was time to leave the talking to adults and big boys from Minnesota, the people whoe know what theyre talking about  That's a little bit of a reach. Wisconsin just played the m...

Urschel

First off, congrats to Sam.
Secondly, how is it that Ted Urschel ever got a job as a head coach? I thought Talafous was running things in Hudson. Apparently, when your dad owns a team, it guarantees you a job.

Maybe the State of Hockey needs to find a smaller state to compare ... like Rhode Island ... whoops ... even Rhode Island made the frozen four this year.... who in rhode island made the frozen four? RIT is in NY smart guy... For all of us who truly don't believe that MN is not the state of hockey, ...

Re: Premier programs

They can disagree all they want. Premier programs have history, top players and titles to their credit. Those schools are not the first to be discussed when it comes to college hockey: Boston (both schools), Minnesota and Michigan will always be the first to be mentioned. I'll give you that Lake St...

Re: Miami

Not a premier job until they win multiple NCAA titles. To date, they have a big fat 0 on their resume. There are only 7 premier NCAA college hockey NCAA PROGRAMS in the country: Denver UND Wisconsin MN BC BU Michigan I'd be willing to bet the people at Miami, Harvard, Mich. State, Col. College, Cor...

ilbok, i agree with you that MN doesn't have the right to call themselves the state of hockey, but you are digging yourself a ditch here bud. Miami of Oxford, OHIO made it to the NCAA"s. Clearly showing to us all just how much you actually know about college hockey. Do us a favor and give your ...

Re: Miami Coach

What makes you think Enrico Blasi would ever want to coach the U. He is Miami (OH) alumnus. HE is successful, the next step for him is the NHL, not lowering his standards and coaching the Gophers Well contrary to current lack of success the U of M still remains one of the premier programs in the co...

Agreed. But anyone who thinks Enrico Blasi would want to come to the Gophers doesn't know too much either. He's happy where he is, and his star will only rise (NHL) not fall (UofM) from here on out.

They played the ejhl teams not the empire, slapshot, any mj team would kill any junior gold team anywhere in the state. They are better than 99% of high school teams. I have seen over a hundred games at both levels and after being in the game for 20+ years, i can say that the MnJHL is a good league....

Slapshot, I'd like to know which team you have seen play besides the Wildcats (they are a joke, i know)? I know the Ice Hawks just got back from nationals in which they made it to the semi's. A team from the CSHL (which most say is on par with the MnJHL) won the tourney, they had to beat 2 EJ teams ...
