I've struggled with a reaction to this but have settled into conditional satisfaction with this new system because it places the decision for where a team should play with the local association, AND it only applies to the post-season. From what I can tell from the posts (thus possibly we shouldn't b...

Could it be that Rochester Red needed a few days to rest up their players? Will the games be played in Rochester since they are truelly the number one seed and just so much better than all teams. Then again why don't we just cancel all the games and just seed the teams into regions, Rochester Red w...

Scores from D2 Sunday Morning White Bear Lake-3 Stillwater-2 Bears win in OT and clinch either the #1 or #2 seed D2 seed to the East Regional. Mahtomedi-5 Tartan-3 The Zephyrs, seeded #8 and a last place finisher in D8, take either the #1 or #2 D2 seed to the East Regional. Very interesting. What's...

The strength of schedule over the last 15 games is going to be similar to the entire season due to the sampling of 15 games being a big enough number of games. So, the trend should be pretty accurate as to how teams have performed the last 15 games versus the entire season. All of this assumes My H...

Re: d

So basically an elite league for Pee Wee's and Bantams? How is this different than a AAA league in the state? Are you referring to a district "super team" as proposed by Quasar? He threw that out there to start the discussion. I'm confused though if your comment is toward my post. By the ...

D3 is not strong after Wayzata and OMG it falls off big. I think you meant to say D6 now that is a buzz saw, Edina, EP, Prior Lake, Burnsville and Tonka but they might get 3 berths as well not sure. I presume that they had to keep the extra berth in the South Regional, which just happens to be the ...

Quasar - Interesting discussions. It's so fascinating to me to see how I can agree with 90% of what a poster says and then come to a different conclusion. As with everything, to me, what's most interesting is establishing the premise that is the true argument. I guess I agree with your concept Quasa...

D6 has 3 berths this year and D3 has 2. When District 1 was alive they offered their 3rd berth to the District with only 2 berths by having a play in game between the 3rd place teams for District 1s 3rd berth. All I suggested is shouldn't the play in game be with a District with only 2 berths (Dist...

Doesn't the 3rd berth from a weak District usually go to a strong District with only 2 spots this year? Why would District 8 get a 4th berth before District 3 gets 3? Sounds like there should be a playoff between the 3rd place finisher from District 9 with the 3rd place finisher from District 3. Wh...

? for You. How many B1 teams out of the D9 Peewee A teams will end up in Peewee A Regions? . . . There's an interesting dynamic for the teams that step up and schedule RR. It changes their week of practice as they prepare for the "big game." Frankly, it can change their whole season as they've now committed to playing in the "big leagues." That's how you help the othe...

Isn't it the D9 policy this year that teams who beat up teams should not have to play those teams except when they want to get into the regionals so they can play teams worthy of competition? Making hockey fun. I think this is one of the most dangerous statements made in arenas. If you made the statement: 'Don't take the fun out of hockey', I would whole-heartedly agree. 'Making hockey fun' leads many people to the conclusion that hockey is not inherently fun, and that it has to be chan...

Tonight, the Rochester Gold beat Red Wing 5-2 in a D9 playoff game. That means the Rochester Red will play the Rochester Gold in the first of two games the Red will need to win to assure themselves a seed in the regional playoff. To put it another way, the top 17 peewee players in the Rochester pro...

Quasar, I don't have a team in D9. Remember what's happening here.
