KrauteBache: At least you throw out ideas, I personally don't like being forced to play games only in your class or being forced to play all section teams. The MSHSL does not set up sections based on competive reasons. This is reason enough to not do it. You would have teams like Little Falls or Wi...

I believe it's healthy to debate the issue of transfers of our high school athletes. However to single out any one athlete and to do so with incorrect information is reckless and cowardly. Knowing the family that the author references personally I can assure you all the following: 1. The student at...

What I've heard is fair minded families move their player and he plays JV a year as the rule states. Families that fuss and want it their way can hire an attorney and threaten the MSHSL with a lawsuit. The MSHSL isn't interested in litigating these cases so they're allowed. Totally unfair but then ...

Does anyone know what the rules are when a student changes schools after their freshman year that are within the same school district but don't relocate? I ask as some students in the Duluth School District transferred to Duluth Marshall after their freshman year who did not move to a new residence...

Re: Transfers
Face it, if you have the will, the money, and a coach that will take you, the transfer rule can be completely circumvented. Happens every year. Look at Eagan. Rosemount kids go there last year by the family "moving" into an apartment. This year a goalie shows up from out of state, and the...

the MSHSL would not do anything, just because his family can afford to own a house in two different cities does not give him a right to get around the rule. If he really wanted to go to edina he would have gone there freshman year. Merely owning a house in two different cities does not get someone ...

Minnesota High School Hockey Pick'em Contest - Final Stretch
Let's face it, hockey is a neat game and everything, but what's really important is who does well in the Pick'em Contest! :D With two games left, here's where things appear to stand with all contenders for the Championship (i.e., those within 2 points of first place): Participant - points through 2/...
