Cambridge/Isanti's goalie left the program for the 2nd time. He is going to play club/AAA hockey in Omaha. It leaves their HS program and 26 skaters with out a goalie. Today's youth sports world: It's all about me. Well at certain point I'm not sure who else you think it should be about. And before...

From today's Dubuque Telegraph Herald : Andrew Kerr never hesitated to lend a hand to the various community outreach programs supported by the Dubuque Fighting Saints. Now, the defenseman whose off-ice work made him a finalist for the USHL’s prestigious Curt Hammer Award could use a big assist from...

Dumbest take ever.......win in regulation and everyone mobs the goalie even if it was 10-9 score. Win in ot and everyone mobs the goal scorer. How many section games have you ever seen to post a take like that? How many section games have I seen? Dozens and dozens and dozens. As I clearly stated, i...

Yep, let's hear it for those blue collar kids at EP, Wayzata, and Stillwater. Skated on frozen ponds until they were pee wees. Skated on the same line for years, because no one moved into or out of the district. they couldn't benefit from numerous hockey camps, elite leagues, skating lessons, etc. ...

Re: Class AA State Tournament is all Public Schools
This should be a great tournament and it just shows that playing with your buddies and for your school and not always for yourself works out. Yeah, cuz if you transfer or go to a private school for any reason and play a sport there you are selfish. Whereas if you play for a public school, especiall...

You guys crack me up. Nitpicking the selection process in general and certain players in particular based on what would best serve anyone you think should be on the list. Mr. Hockey finalists are selected by NHL scouts, USHL/Junior scouts and coaches, select media from throughout the State, and (I b...

Im hearing its coming back to Elk River (the Pit). The Fox North suits loved the place and its made for tv. The powers that be (volunteer coordinators have been notified). I like the going to different communities year after year but sounds like its going to stay in Elk River from here on out. Awes...

Re: BSM
Without his parents moving wouldn't he have to sit out a year? I am not sure it works that way if you transfer into a private since they don't have an official district boundary unless MSHSL made a change recently? Doesn't matter if it's public or private, you have to change residences. Doesn't hav...

I see a pretty even split with the picks for 4AA. HM returns several forwards (Reifenberger, Mills and Bremer are notables), Staum at defense and Begley in net. Of those, Reifenberger, Bremer, Staum and Begley made their respective National Camps -- Reifenberger and Begley for the 2nd time, Staum fo...

And just to fire up 10minmajor, if Luverne can't get to the X in 2016, then you better start looking at what is wrong down there. Feel bad for this years seniors. Should have been there this year. No competition AT ALL in their section next year and a lot of high scorers on their team. I will be lo...

The Futures draft is somewhat misleading in the first round now though because some best players get signed to tenders before the draft happens. That wasn't around 3 or 4 years ago. Not to mention the fact that the NTDP picks most of the cream before it gets to the draft. Considering Tufte turned d...

I'm sorry, when did this topic -- like almost every other topic -- become about Section 3 and/or Luverne and/or the terrific twosome. Again. And again. And again. Roll away Cards, roll. Please. Congratulations to all of the kids making it to National Camp at both 16's and 17's! Looks like considerab...

I will. I think this is another example of the short-sided, egocentric manner in which MNH runs everything (e.g. putting a peewee and bantam aged festival right in the middle of association tryouts). It's embarrassing. I couldn't have said it better than Inigo. Karl, you are a wise person, no doubt...

Re: HP 17's Festival vs. Spring ACT Test
Some schools are starting to offer the ACT during school hours and that you don't have to pay extra money for. A lot of kids who don't have 50 dollars sitting around and were not planning on going to college just won't take the ACT so this allows them to at least get one chance at it and perhaps th...

Geez. No one is asking ACT admin or USA Hockey to reschedule everything in life. Is there anything between total support or total bashing on this site? I suppose EVERY kid (not just hockey players) currently signed up to take the ACT on April 18 could have taken in February -- thus I suspect everyon...

HP 17's Festival vs. Spring ACT Test
What happens to the kids in Sections 2A/AA, 4A/AA, 3A/AA and 6A/AA whose teams lose their first game at the HP 17's Spring Festival? Their second game is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th. The Spring ACT test is also on Saturday, April 18th, from 8 a.m. 'til dismissal at approx 12:15 p.m...
