haha I agree on the arm wrestling, you have a point there. Pretty much beyond pointless to even put that on TV let alone ESPN.

Well Roseau dominated the championship last year and Cretin the year before, at least this one was close, more exciting game this year. Hopefully next year we may see a barn burner come down to the last minute or something in that genre!

Kind of makes the championship funner that Hill Murray won. Now we get the good ol' classic of Public vs. Private. Definately should get the student sections more in to it

First off it is not big enough to show on national television. You think average high school hockey players in Maine or Michigan even have a clue where Edina is or that Hill Murray is a private school? It's like football in Texas, their State Tourny down there for football is probably just as huge b...

I MAY have tickets to both AA sessions Thursday at the Xcel, the morning session at Marriucci (spelling) Friday, and the afternoon sessions at Marriucci Saturday. They are in a student section(Thursdays) so don't go if you are planning on enjoying the game in peace and quite or if you are from a Pri...

The only stand out player on Hastings this year was Ben Horsch. Jon Gleinser played some incredible games but he was not nonstop consistent. He played two incredible games against Woodbury and Roseville to get the wins. But it took him half the season to do it and get the big wins. If Ben Horsch was...

I thought the same thing, AV has no chance. Even if they pull of one upset, they will not pull off two or three.

I will agree with you too an extent. Hastings may need a new coach to maybe spark things up in the program, but Welch is not the worst coach out there at the same time. This whole topic/situation is more of a personal thing/opinion so it all comes down to how you feel about the whole thing, speciall...

Wrestling is number 2 in state right now, or they were, not sure any more. And the baseball team went to state last year, I think they got 6th? Not 100% sure though. Basketball has never been really good in Hastings from what I know of, football has been struggling the past 2 years like hockey. Hock...

Wow I just keep finding stupider and stupider comments in here. No affense to you Hastings/Welch haters in here  ALSECORD- You also forgot to add Roseville in that run of win. And EDDY DID PLAY in the game Hastings beat Woodbury. Woodbury did have 1 or 2 guys out but Eddy was not one of them, ...

Forgot to mention about the whole summer thing and Russ doing nothing for them in the summer... Last time I check he got the team into a summer league this past summer and had his assistant coach run it. 2 years ago he had his son Danny Welch run a little mini camp like thing on Sundays to keep the ...

Well, I can't believe I have missed this forum topic for this long, didn't see it. But anyways, some of you have no idea what you are talking about and don't have your facts straight. First of all, Waxlax LOST HIS CAPTAINSHIP the day after he was caught, so everyone quit saying "I can't believe...

Looks like the boys in blue and gold couldn't rebound as quick as I hoped, Forest Lake beat them 7-3 tonight. The Raiders were up 2-0 after the first but then Forest Lake scored 5 unanswered in the second. They pulled Gliesner and put Kimmes in but the Rangers scored 2 more in the third and the Raid...

Waxlax did quit in the middle of the game, definately will hurt the squad. Hopefully he reconsiders, this team has had enough problems this year to have another issue like this. Lets hope the Raiders can rebound

Hastings-2 WBL-1 Obviously have to go with my home town :D I also have a little more faith now knowing 3 of their top players are out, that brawl must have been pretty crazy. I was hoping it would have maybe happened at the Park vs. Hastings game last night  Either way we will see if Hastin...

All that has been said is that they have improved greatly, may be somewhat a little underrated, and are finally starting to turn th...

Ben Horsch is among the top 15 defenseman in the state. He is not a goal scorer, but he almost never makes mistakes, and plays his position almost perfectly. I'm not saying this just for being a Hastings fan either. I truly think he is one of the most underrated players(at least defenseman) in the s...

I think their should be shootouts but I dont know about the fighting. There really is no debate about it anyways because it's a high school sport, no way will the school board and governor or whoever let it happen, not a chance. Maybe a 0.00001% chance, good luck. Shootouts I think are a good idea t...
