Re: Section Changes
Who at the MSHSL thought 6AA needed a fifth top 10 team? The Group of Death I just want to know how they managed to put Rogers *and* Buffalo in that section but not Maple Grove, not that that would’ve been much better. There should not be a possibility let alone a very good chance of top ten teams ...

Re: Any comments on the Gophers game?
Gophers choked big time, but the refs were pushing the food down their throat once it was already in there.

Re: 2025-2026 Schedules
Are you sure you aren't conflating two separate things? It would be possible for Hill to play in a holiday tournament showcase and still have the Edina home & home another week. I'm not all that jazzed about these holiday tournaments in any case. There was a time when the idea was to allow team...

Re: 2025-2026 Schedules
I believe the holiday tournaments are a week later than usual since Christmas Eve/Day fall on a Wednesday/Thursday, preventing a three day tournament from being played that week. So that’s why the Edina/Hill back to back is that Friday and Saturday immediately following Christmas. Will be interesti...

Re: Never too early for rankings…
Feels like Edina should be #1 considering they’re returning their top 11 scorers and starting goalie from a team that finished third and had the eventual champions on the ropes for 50 minutes.

Re: AA SF Game- #1 Moorhead vs #5 Edina
Unfortunate result but the Edina I was expecting all year finally came to play. A bit reminiscent of 2023, probably got closer to the mountaintop than was expected upon reaching St. Paul and they're returning A TON next year. Like, the top 11 scorers and Bjorgaard in net, assuming no early departur...

Re: Odds against winning 2025 AA Boys state championship
Can someone smarter than me come up with these numbers For each town playing in the state, list the number of kids that moved into their program after Bantams For the private schools, list the numbers of kids that played for another high school team before transferring to said private school It wou...

Re: Games Thursday 2-27-25
Andover wins 3-1 capping the greatest comeback in Mn. high school hockey I've ever seen, rising from 0-9 to possibly win the AA tournament. I personally don't think that'll happen, but who knows? Congrats to those kids and Coach Manney. Juicy take: If Andover wins it all, it will be the greatest st...

Re: Section Venues
The MSHSL should just rent out Ridder for all metro-based section finals. I can't imagine there being a ton of empty seats. Yeah, it's a commute for some, but if you're going to be playing at the X at state, there's going to be a commute anyway. The undersized section final venues for the metro jus...

Re: 2025 State Tournament Official Seeds
Was cheering for Edina but HM was the better team. Also good to see Dodge come through. It's always fun when a new school gets in because they bring the noise and excitment. Yea, I could sense what was coming once Hill tied it, Edina had been on their heels the entire third period. They did a good ...

Re: MNHockeyTV quality: Is it worth it?
It's hit or miss, but the production is generally good for games at the big AA schools. Not super high tech but there's a clock and scoreboard and announcers and definitely worth the 25-30 bucks for section season.

Re: AA State
I'll be there if I decide to play the "standing in line for AA tickets" game on Friday. What people want for tickets on the secondary market is lunacy. Always wondered how many people stay on the season ticket list just to flip the tickets for profit. They couldn't even tell you who's in ...

I thought I remembered it being a Blake parent, but I think the point remains. I used to think it was ridiculous with the empty building & thought it should be at Ridder, but it doesn't bother me anymore. Xcel is the pinnacle arena to play at in the state, so I got no problem with it being the ...

Re: 2025 State Tournament Official Seeds
Be curious to know if Blake and Breck had to move up? While I probably think they're worse, if Warroad wins another that's a fourpeat so time to move up. Heck if they don't it's time to move up. If Roseau can play AA, Warroad can too. Breck never moved up, Blake did and would have been quite succes...

What does the Xcel charge for the girls state tournament? I get that it wouldn’t be fair to move just the girls, but what do they get, 1-2k fans a game? Looks like maybe 500 people for the Farmington/Edina game. I believe the MSHSL got sued (and lost) back in the early 2000s because they played the...
