Ive always wondered what would happen if a boy tried out for a girls team, how would that go over? You don't see girls tryout for boys basketball teams…ect. Clearly this player should do whatever she and her parents feel is the right thing to do. HOwever, I think in the overall picture if girls want...

I guess my solution to the cost would be, distribute tickets at a heavy discount to the associations of the teams involved, maybe have youth fees be 5.00 per ticket and adults 10.00. Encourage the high school coaches to get involved with the youth associations to make sure the players attend the tou...

Cost of State Tourney
I just read in the newspaper that the cost of the state tourney was 17.00 for an adult and 11.00 per student. I think that crazy! So for a family of 4 to attend a game it would be 56.00 + add on treats and drinks, you are looking at 75.00 per game. Assuming your team makes it all the way that could ...

I too was at the game and sitting near the goal line. Besides overhearing the parents of the line that was on the ice talking to their players who scored about what happened, the players said the goal went in by no more than an inch, but it went in. I was watching the goal judge and his reaction was...

WBL Team/Parents, Please think about this, it is close to playoff season. All of these posts positive or not are distractions to what your team is trying to accomplish. If you have major issues with the coach make an appointment and go talk to him like an adult. If you are a player posting on this b...

It really is a relevant question because most of the players played youth hockey elsewhere and those communities should also receive some of the credit for helping mold those athletes into players that are worthy of making it to the NDP camp. Aren't sylvester and the goalie from elsewhere? Now if th...

I am not so sure about Goski, but Centennial has had a great program. Great Youth program. ON the boys side their coaches are extremely involved, I am assuming the girls program isn't any different. In my opinion Mr. Kwapick has clearly helped the players get to where they are today. So i can empath...

My opinion- Minnesota hockey is going in the right direction with trying to give more players opportunity. My opinion and this is just what I think. The point of the NDP program is to find olympians. I think MN hockey is contradicting themselves by having a development camp be a tryout. They can't h...

You could do what they did for soccer and football. They now make all quarterfinal state tournament games to be played on Artificial turf. So when teams get to the dome the playing field is equal. So why not have all section tournaments on Olympic Sheets of ice. Plymouth, SSR, Warroad, National Hock...

hockey411 the things you have said about coach scheid and his program are not true and people like you who like to try and undermine all the great things he has done are the problem. To say he plays his daughter excessivley is just not true and if you watched the team play you would know it. If you...

How can the game fall on Scheid? The guy only won a state title a year ago with less talent than he had this year. I think people need to realize that high school coaching jobs pay about as much as a weekend waiting tables at perkins! This isn't NCAA/NHL hockey! Also before you post mean things abou...

I would say Emily Klatt has had an outstanding Senior year. Her team is very young and she keeps them in every game they play. I hear she will be attending Gustavus next year and might be the final piece of the puzzle for them. Goaltending has usually been their weakness, which is tough to say becua...

Joehockey- very well said! I love reading this forum when it is postive because it brings more insight to the game! When people being their sour grapes to the board all it does is hurt the growth of the game. If you have/had a problem with this coach maybe you should let it go. If they are in your a...

I do not think RV has a weak goalie by any means, I just believe WBL's and STillwater's goalies are stronger. I think RV's strength is in their 3 Forward lines because they don't seem to ever quit coming at their opponent. Stillwater has the ability to run with Roseville, i don't know if anyone else...

It seems like they are attempting to change the system but having 300+ kids try out is crazy! I don't get it! I would say there are 35+ kids in the state at each age group that have a chance to play at the national development camps. I would say invite 100 kids and give them a chance. Yes, some kids...
