Former BSM D-Man McCarthy to Merrimack

Current Bismarck Bobcats defenseman Thomas McCarthy has verbally commited to Merrimack College. McCarthy spent last season and the first part of this season with the Fargo Force. Prior to junior hockey, he helped lead the Red Knights to a third place finish at the 2008 Class AA State Tournament. In ...

This tournament reminds me alot of 2006 and 2007 when the "best" teams went out early. I think it adds to the magic of the tournament when the unexpected happens. Now more than ever it comes down to heart and who wants it the most. Should be fun to watch.

The leagues are independent, as far as I know they can be draft by both but can only play for one. Nice to have choices like that huh? May also have been cut from Green Bay I noticed Steve Carew (formerly of BSM) was drafted by Owatonna. Little puzzling since he was on Green Bay's protected ...

NAHL Entry Draft

Below are the results from the NAHL entry draft held yesterday. I was too lazy to go through and pick out the Minnesota kids (sorry!).

Considering that each USHL team has 30 players on their protected list (currently post draft), the chance of cracking the final 23 is pretty slim. That would mean that at least 7 players would have to be cut from the current protected list to start to make room for kids coming in for tryouts. The ma...

I believe it's all over. 30 players per team completes the list. Congratulations to all the Minnesota boys taken. Good luck. If I missed your name on the list somehow, apologies. Best of luck to all players chosen. Thanks GR for all of the updates. you must be retired or off of night shift to be ab...

Re: #1 OVERALL PICK ????????????

#1 - Michael Forney - University of North Dakota (formerly Theif River Falls) This rivals Brian Lawton, Tony Mandarich, and Ryan Leaf for bad picks in my opinion. Forney has not been playing because of lack of talent. When he didn't play through his injury at the state tourney I found out every thi...

[It is pretty rare for a kid to commit to a school like Alt has and not end up playing at that school. Especially when a player commits to a big name program like the Gophers, UND, etc. You pretty much never see a kid change his mind on programs like those schools. Do the schools ever back out on t...

Eden Prarie - Patterson, Meyers, Daly
Wayzata - McCarthy, McCormick, Holmers, Bergland

Tonka - Dwyer
Brooklyn Park - Zierke
Edina - Student, Ankeny, Shibrowski?

That's a couple off the top of my head.
