Rebuilding year
Tartan only has 6 potential returning players and I don't see anyone getting cut from the HS team next year, except for maybe a goalie. It looks like it's time to start the rebuilding process again!

Top player stats
Just curious what the stats were for the top players this year.

Tartan's top performer was #9, Bob Kurz. He had 93 points, 59 goals and 34 assists.

With all the points that ER, EPB, and EPR were putting up this year, they must have some similar performers. How about ERs #20?

...

Make it happen
Ok guys, the season is over so I figured that it's time to work on this topic again. I was talking to one of the big shots in D2 the other night over a few 'pops' and I brought up the JGB select game. He mentioned some interesting points: He didn't think that it would be allowed, MHL doesn't sponsor...

Re: Champs
hockey08-

You're correct, it was a great game and a lot closer than the score indicates. Even with a 4-1 lead after the second there was every reason to believe that the Elks could come back and win the game. Our goalie played extremely well today. Official shots were 26 for ER and 25 for Tar...

Re: Details
EG91 -

I read your comments and thoughts for the organization of the select game - sounds good to me. Like I said earlier: the details don't really matter to me, let's just make the game happen. I'm glad you guys are stepping forward and taking charge.

If your tentative dates hold up,...

re: best time
Make a managerial decision and schedule it! With spring break and other vacations going on you'll never find a good date for everyone involved. The week of the 15th sounds like a good idea, a Friday night practice with a Saturday game would be cool.

No sunshine for CoachGuy
Come on CoachGuy, I volunteer you for something and then you take off to Florida??? Wouldn't you rather be standing in a cold arena than sitting on a warm beach looking at bikini babes? <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/glasses.gif ALT=&qu...

Eastern Jr. Gold B All-Stars RULE!
BVILLE-

It sounds like you just volunteered for the first annual Jr. Gold B MN All-Stars game. You can take the Western team (west of 35W, incl Bville of course) and CoachGuy can take the Eastern Team (East of 35W, incl Rville of course).

Now you just need a player or two from each te...

Stepping stones
There have been a few Tartan Jr. Gold players over the years that went on to play Juniors or DIII. Typically these were the seniors that should have been on the varsity, but got cut for whatever reason. Not many Jr. Gold players can make that jump to the next level, though.

Morgan
Troll21-

Interesting idea. There would be a lot of logistics to work out, but in the end the Jr. Gold leagues could become more in line with H.S. play - no more automatic off sides, 2 referee system. By not having to use USA Hockey insurance we wouldn't have to deal with the "our insuran...

Picks
I love the play by play predictions, especially the detail from SLP Coach on the upcoming Tartan vs EP Red game. This should make for some good motivational speeches and a great game.
We played EP Red early in the season at a tournament and came out on top of a very close game 3-1.

Is it ...

Time to retire
Elkman - the score of the game is really irrelevant. I would have raised the issue whether we won or lost. The fact is that the old fart that runs D10 feels that he doesn't have to follow USA / MAHA rules. Furthermore, the coach knows the rule and should have followed it instead of taking the word o...

2/19 scores
Sorry I'm so late reporting the Tartan/Centenial score. As it stands now, I think the only spot effected was the 6 and 7 spot between Centennial and WB Orange. Centennial came out on top 5-3, including a 200 footer open net goal with about 45 seconds left. It was a great game, very fast paced and ha...

Rules, Rules, Rules, . . .
I wouldn't mind seeing the Elks removed for the playoffs.
The thing is that most teams in this league follow the rules, whether they like them or not. That's a major part in the success of the MHL. Then D10 comes along and decides that they don't have to follow the rules if they don't want to. E...

D10 SUCKS
Attention playoff bound Jr. Gold B coaches (especially EPR & B and Burnsville). Here's a good conversation starter for this forum:

As you may know, Tartan filed a protest against Elk River for using too many players. Elk River has 21 players on their roster, suited up 21 against us, and a...
