Re: Leddy

Nick is a good kid with a great future as he continues to develop his game. Time will tell if he made the right decision but, in my opinion, playing in the AHL with a few games with Chicago will speed up his development vs. playing for the Gophers. I suggest that we lock up this post as it is a High...

Have to agree with East Hockey "seeing Southwest beat Edina 1-0 in OT in the '70 championship game" was special. As I recall Edina refused to play SW in their annual game at Braemar Arena because SW was in a "rebuilding year" and wouldn't give Edina a good game. Edina and SW, bot...

To honor "Brad Sheldtad Guy" the 1970 Edina Team with Nyrop (RIP), Thayer, Krieger, Carlson brothers were a heavily talented team that was beat by Southwest and their hot goalie, Brad Shelstad, 1-0 in double OT on a fluke goal. Had to dig deep for this information when I saw the name pop up.

From what I saw in the Tribune today, it appeared that Mr. Taft was being introduced to the seat of his pants by an EP player .......... ouch! Nice hit by Leddy. Taft will learn that you don't try to dangle Leddy without getting nailed. Had to be there to see it but Taft never went down and kept hi...

Interesting quote about a teams ability to win the State Tournament in the Star Trib from Edina's former coach, Willard Ikola.

Edina routinely ran three lines with the talent spread throughout.

"You're not going to win without three lines," Ikola said.

1970 State "single class" Tournament Mpls. Southwest Indians - 1 Edina Hornets - 0 Double OT - Fluke Goal - Border Battle - Both Teams Undefeated - Amazing! On paper it should have never happened but on the rink anything can and it did on this cold night in March at the old Met Center.

I was at the game and both fans were typical STUPID high school kids. Edina fans start singing the national athem one vers in front of the poor girl that was trying to sing then the b'ville fans joined in. She was very devistated, left crying. I think both teams have great fan support, but they nee...

Im not Dave Meyer im a pro scout who watched Dave play at model camp and loved his skills. Im thinkin about drafting him strictly on his empty net goal scoring abilities. With your team up one or two goals and the opposing teams net empty, theres no other player that i'd want out there more than di...

Just because a recruit was offered a scholarship at a respective school doesn't mean the amount of the scholarship was matched by the other school. The recruit will then take what he feels is the better offer (larger amount of money). It could very well be that in this situation he was offered as m...

I agree, Matt Johnson (Stillwater) would definitely be a good pick for the NTDP but I believe Blake Thompson (Eden Prairie) is that "diamond in the rough" that has the potential to develop into a very consistent, solid player and may be the ideal playter for our US "Development"...

Surprisingly, Jordan Lovick did not make top 102 last year, but he did make top 51 this year in 16's. Hockey is rarely predictable. Lovick is a very good player but I didn't see him on the Advanced 16's roster posted on MN Hockey. Maybe he was an alternate and was asked to participate when a player...

I don't make mistakes. I read the rule book before making comments! Re: sportsmanship once again

i i expect this sort of spotsmanship down south but not up north. Interesting statement but where you live, north, south, east or west, has nothing to do with class or behaving as an adult and role model for our children. Sportsmanship and acting appropriately at all times, in sports and in life, i...
