Difference between 18 yr old goalie and 25 yr old goalie: (AP) -- Viktor Fasth made his first career start last month and picked up the win. He posted his first shutout a week ago, and collected another victory last week despite allowing five goals. ''You always try to work hard to get to play,'' sa...

Eagan 16U team looking for a goalie

If there are any 16U eligible goalies out there that would like 100% of the ice time in net.........let me know. We currently do not have a goalie for our 16U team and looking for someone willing to waiver into Eagan Hockey Association. Please contact Paul Caron at the below if interested: 612-382-5...

Correction on the above.....Eagan had a JGA team this year and a JGB team in D8.

I do agree on the general topic. St. Thomas Academy, Lakeville, Apple Valley, all could field A teams.

I would say his skill and ability is exactly what enabled him to make that play.

If you think your average HS hockey player could have made that play you're fooling yourself.

OK, I have to comment here. The goal by Rau was UNBELIEVABLE. He had the speed, sense, and incredbile athletic ability to dive and get to that puck at just the right time. Whether it went in off a skate or not is irrelevant. He made the play. It was stated earlier that anyone could have made that pl...

Eagan JGB - scrimmages with teams from Metro League

Eagen JGB is looking to scrimmage teams from the Metro League - we have multiple open slots and would be looking for a home/home scrimmage with refs.

For contact info and dates please visit EHA website.

In regards to sixbucksagallon comment a few posts back I have seen several players go from 16U as a 10th grader to JV as a Junior and then Varsity as a Senior. In fact one player a few years ago scored a goal in the HS State Tournament as a Sr after being on the 16U team as a Sophomore. So it defini...

2/1 rankings

One comment on your "mediocre muddle of Lake teams". Eagan with a 5-1 win over Lakeville North has won 7 out of there last 8 and established themselves as the #3 team in the Lake. Only loss in last 8 was to Eden Prairie 2-0. They have 3 solid lines and playing well right now with 12-5-1 ov...

In my opinion the coaching staff of STA will push the admins to move up to AA.....IF....they start losing top players (i.e. Anders Lee) to other schools because they play in single A tournament. I believe players like Ryan Walters caliber would consider this when choosing a school. What top player w...

Future of Kennedy hockey

I'm not in the program but watched Anoka beat them 10-2 in the SSP tourney and know they haven't won a game all year. Can't be much fun for anyone involved. Does anyone know the future of the Kennedy program? Will they drop out of the Lake Conference? Merge with Jefferson? I've head some rumors but ...

Meant to say allow to move up the summer birthday kids if they've started kindergarten on time. In other words, born in July/Aug but not held back.

Most associations allow the summer birthday kids to move up to be with their class if they've started kindergarten late. Here's an excerpt from the Edina handbook: EHA “MOVE UP POLICY” The Edina Hockey Association enforces a policy of placing all participating skaters in the level of play associated...

It's my understanding that MN Hockey did a study and found out that 80% of boys born in July and August are held back in starting kindergarten. The ultimate goal of MN Hockey is to keep class grades together as teams to mirror High School. If the cutoff date were moved to match the school cutoff dat...

Here's my take on this. And yes, each parent should do what's best for their kid but that doesn't mean this board can't be used for some advice/feedback from those who have been around a while. With a son just graduating, a HS playing son, and another in bantams I can say looking back that there is ...

Wessy's Boys didn't look too dominant last night losing to Eagan 5-3. Maybe a little complacent after the Wayzata tourney but it was a very even game most of the night. Lots of chances for both teams. When Eagan wants to skate and not take stupid penalties all night they can compete. Key goal was th...

And Rosemount is 0-5 outside the conference so that's not saying much.

Actually I think EV might be the best team in the Lake. They're only a 1/2 game back but have played one less game.

Not the worst conference, but definitely a down year for the Lake. Burnsville 0-5, Jefferson 0-4, Rosemount 0-4 outside records. Eagan, arguably the top team in the lake has a 3-1 non-conference record but has not played strong teams. Here's who they beat: St. Louis Park - 2-12 North St. Paul - 3-10...
