The goalie from Grand Rapids is as polished as I have seen in a long time at the Bantam level. I was impressed just watching him in warmups. As far as a forward coming up to help next year, no one stood out to me from what I have seen. Up north, Roseau has a handful of kids that will help (Strand, B...

It all depends on if your program is interested in development of individual players or winning games. East Grand Forks had an a2 team at the bantam level and moorhead had an a2 team at the peewee level this season. Moorhead was right around .500 and competed very well. EGF only won a handful of gam...

District 16 should be Roseau, East Grand Forks with Bemidji, TRF and Warroad fighting for the 3rd spot. Single elimination tournament takes alot of the drama out of this tournament. the double elim bracket that was used in the past would really open up the race for the 3rd seed. Top 2 will be tough ...

Maybe it was Ontario or sasaktwan then. A Team that have came to our Squirt tournament a few years ago was talking to me about the checking rules. Either way it makes more sense to me to start earlier. There are a few big Peewee age kids and I can see where a smaller kid could be scared. If they had...

East Grand Forks - November 28-30. 4 games, 17 minute stop time periods. Information for all tournaments at www.egf.pucksystems.com. Good tournament last year with competitive teams from northern MN, Colorado, Winnipeg and Ontario.

Fargo Forum did report that Lee was skipping his senior year to play for Dean Blaise. I heard that if it wasn't Blaise coaching the team he would have stayed and played football and hockey for Roseau his senior year. I won't comment on if he made the right decision or not, because that is for each i...

State "A" Tournaments
At the state hockey meetings, apparently it was decided to have all Minnesota "A" level hockey tournaments in the cities, with championship games being played in the Excel center. Although I think that playing in the Excel center would be a very good experience for the kids, I have some ma...

That Jefferson team was very good, hard to find a better team than them. They were matched up with a very good Moorhead team in that time frame (Jason Blake, Ryan Kraft, Matt Cullen, all NHL) 7 or 8 players that went on to play D1 college hockey. Moorhead could never get past Jefferson though. Also,...

Rick O'Shea, that was one of the dumbest posts that I have ever seen. It is people like you that don't realize that there is more Minnesota north of St. Cloud and give a bad name for all the good cities hockey parents. Grand Rapids was runner-up in the state tournament. EGF beat Grand Rapids during ...
