The Lumberjacks had short bouts of OK play, but really didn't get any help in or in front of the net. The JV goalie (sophomore) John Scheuer played well when he played in relief, giving up a goal in each period (2nd and 3rd), and showing signs of hope for the future in net. Went to Cloquet captains ice this afternoon to see if what i have heard was true after reading these posts and saw the Thompson kid standing on the side alot while the Pugh kid was playing king of the net. Has quick feet and looked fundamentally solid. Actually kinda boring watching him with his go...

Re: Cloquet

CEC will be a a pretty solid club. Very young compared to last year and a lot of key players need to be replaced (Jokinen, Brown, Hatch, Baker to name a few). I think Tompson's a top tier goalie in 7AA and will continue to improve as the season moves on. I also heard that CEC got a goalie from Alas...

No he didn't, he had a pretty good game. It is tough to stop 2 on 1's and 3 on 1's. He played well.

Ill agree with that too, the refs should call penalties when they see them no matter what the game, however the last penalty was a weak one. If anything I would've taken Boese with the trip, but equalized it by calling Jokinen with the dive. Same thing last night to in the section 7A final. The gam...
