EP isn't really known for it's hockey

The last 15 years EP Bantam A has had 10 State Appearances and 5 State Championships. Not bad for a football town. BTW, you have to go all the way back to the 50's, 60's, and early 70's to find Eveleth & Edina, the only other programs to have that kind of Bantam success. I do agree Edina is a ho...

"best team in the state by far"

I think the only team that had a chance to beat edina was white bear and they lost 1-0 edina was the best team in the state by far and they deserved to win it. Congrates to Edina for winning the State Championship. Many things have to go right to win the MN Bantam A Title (team health, game match-u...

To a top 10 team, the only championships that should really matter are in Districts, Regions, & State. All other tournaments are a chance to measure yourself against the top teams around. Judging by the play of Edina, Elk River, OMG, Blaine, and Centennial over the weekend, I would say mission a...

Rau Brothers

Easy HSpuckguy! We all know you're in LOVE with the Leddy kid from your previous posts. Leddy deserves a lot of props for developing his game but don't take it out on the Rau kid. It wasn't that long ago that Leddy was an undersized sophomore trying to prove his game at the Varsity level too. As for...

It is a shame all of these seniors get cut at EP year after year but I think the real question here is not being addressed. Why aren't these players developing during their high school years? EP's youth program continues to feed their Varsity team sophomores who have tasted success. These players ar...

That would be EP going two and thru last year after winning State, not Edina! I heard those two losses were there 3rd and 4th of the season.

The point is, start the game on new ice not crappy ice!!!!!!!!!! Resurface after the 2nd period not after the 1st period. This gives you new ice for the 1st period and the 3rd period. Which makes more sense than only having new ice for the 2nd period. DUH !!!!!!!

What's your point? I realize that Bantam A games are the only games that resurface after two periods. Why would you do this all season only to change the format come playoff time? What the other levels do has no bearing on what the Bantam A level does. So again, what's your point?

I have an idea. How about D6 spends a few extra pennies and buys enough ice time to finish their games. That goes with starting all the games on new ice and resurfacing after two periods as they do during all their Bantam A regular season games. D10 plays 17 minute periods and has an 8 minute warm-u...

Unfortunately they could go 3-0 and lose that one game to a district rival such as Edina vs EP and go home. No double elimination for the 3-0 team!! That's what the coaches dislike about the new format. In D6 where the district playoffs are double elimination the playoff winner often times has to be...

Looks like both #1 and #2, who had their leagues wrapped up, played their final district games like they didn't matter. They probably got what they deserved playing against 2 very good teams that were ready to play. Much like the Indianapolis Colts & Seattle Seahawks. Hmmmmmmmn!?

Looking at EP's schedule on MNHOCKEYRANKINGS.COM they only put up 15 once in what must have been a league game. I don't see many weak teams on their schedule. Who are they running it up against day in and day out?

I assume you ment the Bemidji goalie played well SunDoggie1 not the EP goalie. The EP goalie gave up 3 goals on 15 shots and as I recall two of them were wrist shots just inside the blue line as Bemidji was changing lines. Bemidji managed just 4 shots to EP's 13 in the second period despite EP being...

Come on SunDoggie1, "out skated and out hustled EP" ?! It was a nice game by Bemidji but 11 penalties in the first two periods by EP and 40 saves by the outstanding Bemidji goalie had more to do with the outcome than anything. BTW, great job by the Bemidji cheering section. You were awsome...
