I'm looking forward to watching 2007 Mr Hockey winner (Roseville's M. Dorr) put on a clinic. I also hope to see 2008 Mr Hockey candidate (Roseville's A. Mueller) blow past WB's D and snipe another beautiful shot like he did on 1-13-07. (I wonder if T Johnson ever did recover from that dizziness...)

Same outcome as the first game so why not go with the same score:

Roseville 4 - WBL 3

If it's like the first Roseville-Cretin and last Saturday's WBL-Cretin game, we'll see a lot of penalties, probably some 5 on 3s. The conundrum is that in both of those games the team that was shorthanded on the 5 on 3 situations won the game. I'm hoping that it's reffed like the second Cretin-Roseville game where the refs let the two teams play but WBL does play physical so they'd have to be careful not to let it get out of hand.

I think the key will be White Bear's goalie versus the Roseville offense. As good as the Bears' defense is Roseville should still get better chances than CDH did on Saturday so Vicich will have to come up big. And Hansen will need to avoid the dumb penalties, he doesn't do his team any good while he's in the box. Roseville will need to use their speed and skill to their advantage and avoid getting sucked into a physical game with WBL. They'll also need to take advantage of the power play situations.

I'm guessing that we'll have a physical slogfest with a lot of penalties, Vicich will come up big, regulation will end with a 1-1 tie but Roseville pulls it out in OT, 2-1.
I like your view on things, you could compare Hansen to Dorr with different styles of play. However if Hanson gets double teamed, that leaves us on a vertual 4-3 situation and watch out for Johnson he is a very powerfull, aggresive offensive defenseman. Very dangerous in offensive zone. Wolfgram is playing well as well as Galloway, Puntney. but I really think that WB is deaper than Roseville line for line, I think WB is stronger at D. I think if Johnny plays well it will be really hard to beat WB.

I think the bottom line is though it will be a golaie battle. Both teams have some outstanding power. However, I agree the refs need to let the game go on with out letting it get carried away. Hopefully your wrong about the penalties on our side anyway.
I thought Andre Peltier on D did an excellent job when Taylor Johnson was out. This should be an excellent game and I hope the referees let them play. The Bears didn't show up until the 2nd period in the first game and almost came back and won.

I agree with you Andre has been playing well, all of the D have and most of the forwards. We will see what happens tonight.

Bearhockey, I agree that White Bear is stronger at D, though Roseville has some good seniors with Schugel and Koehler. However, Roseville's top line, assuming it's Dorr, Mueller and Wieck, is better than any line WBL can put out there and if the Cretin game is any indication they'll probably doubleshift the first liners, particularly Dorr, to try to create matchup conundrums. Hansen and the Bears will get their chances but Roseville's skill and speed should generate some better ones for the Raiders which is why I'm thinking it'll come down to what kind of night Vicich has.

This has the potential to be one of the best games of the year with two evenly matched teams. And these teams could meet again for Round 3 in the sections. Should be fun!

I have a hard time believing that Rosevilles 1st line is better than WB's, however I do think they are pretty even. If you remember the last game WB was down 3-0 in the 1st. Not playing a good 1st period, and came back to dominate the 2nd and 3rd. If Johnny plays well and WB plays all 3 periods they will be tough to beat. If Roseville double shifts the 1st liners you can bet WB will match up with them line for line.

After watching Hastings and Roseville play you my man may eat those words. Roseville will need to play a hell of alot better.

Bearhockey, WBL didn't face the first line of Mueller, Dorr and Weick in the first game because Roseville was mixing up their lines. While Hansen would match up with Dorr I don't think they have any other players with the offensive skills that Wieck and Mueller have.

I am not disputing the fact that RV has talent, Dorr Mueller and Wieck are great players. I think Hartman would compare to Mueller and Wieck, and Taylor Johnson is almost like having a 4th forward out there, with out sacrificing any D. Villeanue can contribute and Lemon is playing well, However we will need our 2nd and 3rd lines to step up like they did agains CDH, and the D to continue to play well. I have no prediction on this game, simply because it will be hard to predict. I obviously know who I want to win. Simply put, I think it is going to be a great game.

Good article on Dorr and Hansen in the Star Tribune the other day... sort of the heavyweight matchup among the players in this game.

Here is the link:
