Not sure why Woodbury gets the short end of the stick, with 43 wins??? They have same amount of losses as Bvlle and Wayzata Blue and a ton more wins than either of those two higher ranked teams....seems like a flaw on that one. Strength of schedule deserves consideration but its not like Bvlle is playing quality teams outside of D6...43 wins is a ton of freakin wins.....or is that a typo?
ranks
Regarding the pioneer rankings:
Keep in mind that 5 pts equates to 1 goal, so Woodbury is rated only one goal per game differential lower than #1 EP Red. I think these rankings are a little biased against teams like Woodbury that consistently win but, but typically by smaller margins. B'ville is ranked high because when they lose, they lose only by a goal or two.
A couple of teams missing from the top twenty are the Rochester teams. They both had strong showings in their tourney this past weekend when Red went 4-1 and took Woodbury into OT and Black lost two close ones to Blaine who went 7-0 during the last week, yet lost ground in the rankings.
Pioneer still has the best rankings out there.

No question Pioneer's are the best. Someone will always be able to find something to disagree with.
I think another thing that is taken into his rankings is the strength of schedule. Woodbury has beaten a bunch of weaker teams and had much closer games with the top 20 teams.
If I were Woodbury, I would start to worry about burn-out this time of the year. That is a bunch more games than anyone else has played. Practices are taken for granted this day in age.
I think its funny how when there are no D6 teams playing this thread slows down to nothing.
It looks like all of the Districts are final. The best part of the season starts now!

Not losing to Chaska twice by 4-1 score each time would have helped your case. Woodbury is about right where they belong from what I have seen of their team and the teams that are in front of you.Puckhead2 wrote:Not sure why Woodbury gets the short end of the stick, with 43 wins??? And you know what? As great and as accurate as I believe these to be; they do not matter at all right now. NEW SEASON STARTS NOW!

Here are some fun facts for the Secret Society.
The answer is "Yes" I need a life.
There are 126 teams at the Bantam B1 level in 12 districts.
Here are the unofficial League Champions. Unofficial because I got them from websites. Some leagues do not have official standings. Most do, anyway here goes:
1: Highland/Central
2: White Bear Lake Black
3: Wayzata Blue
4: Waseca
5: Sartell
6: Eden Prairie Red
8: Woodbury
10: Chisago Lakes
11: Duluth East
12: Grand Rapids
15: Moorhead Black
16: Roseau

unofficial league results
SPS - Thx for the work! It will be interesting to see how many of these champions actually get to state.

B Bantams playoffs
I find it interesting that all districts for the playoff format except D10 use the double elimination bracket format. Does MN hockey have any rules for district playoffs or is this up to each disctrict to decide the playoff format. I look at a team several teams from D10 and 1 good team will not make the regional (Chisago Lakes, Blaine, Cent. Red, Elk River). It's to bad that a team may not have the opportunity to play into the tourney if a team should have a bad game early in round robin play.

rochester
very observant my2... both rochester teams were next:
I did not get all the scores from the rochester tourney... anyone got them?
Code: Select all
26 Rochester Red 61.7 17-12-4
27 Rochester Black 61.5 18-22-2
Can't agree with you more My2Cents. All this board is are people clammering about the EP's, Edina's and all the other cake eating towns. The lowly District 8 doesn't hardly make the map, when there are ligitmately 5 teams in the District who could make a run. I like the rankings though, so that guy is doing a great job, but the talk from parents who thinks their B Bantam player will be the next Neal Broten is quite amusing
