He has helped the huskies defeat Osseo and Coon Rapids and has kept the huskies to 4 one goal games (Centenial, Champlin(twice), and Anoka. The huskies are not graduating any defensemen and has the #2 ranked bantam A team comming up next year. The huskies have a bright future and will be a force in the coming years.
You wanna bet your tonka toys and power rangers on it?
Some would call 4 in a row a dynasty

After losing the shut out opportunity Aus let Thompson play the third because most likely that will be his last period at Varsity for the year. Hollerud and Schwartz are both playing well as the rest of the Bengals team. I don't see how Blaine doesn't win the conference
Do you actually have any idea what your talking about?

Yes I do know what I'm talking about. Blaine is the better team. You guys had to goals that should have never went in the previous game. Bailey and Beaudette both missed empty netter's. I beleive Blaine out shot centennial and I know they outplayed them.

In addition to out scoring Blaine 5-3, they also out shot them 23-19.

Blaine beat Centennial in every aspect of the game... except on the scoreboard. Tonights game is too close to call, and a good warm-up for sections. It will be a fun one to watch.

Hey Bench Rider, are you sure Tim Wolford open enrolled? It was my understanding that he moved into the district and dent doesn't show him on the list.

Maybe the family had multiple residence? I'm sure he was probably recruited by the Circle Pines tennis coach anyway. 8)

I assume your referring to the wrap around by Hanzalik, but I don't remember any other goals that "shouldn't have gone in." If the Bengal players aren't athletic enough to stop weak goals then they don't deserve to win. It was a one sided game in favor of Centennial....The stats and score point to that...Hopefully tonight will be more of the same :o

My understanding is that he has a house in Maple Grove, and an appartment out in Centenial. I do not know why he would would to move out to Centenial though, he was apart of a great group of core kids at Maple Grove.

Jon Hanzalik is God in the Flesh. He single handedly won the Cougars the conference championship, with an amazing goal from the blue line as time ran out to lift the Cougars over the tornadoes 2-1.

Cinco,

I think you mean a share of the title right? True you did beat Blaine 2 times but those are the only 2 losses in Conference play for Blaine. Anyway I am not gonna get into the whole ref thing the game was played and it ended how it ended we have to live with that, yet your mighty Cougars did lose to Maple Grove and Elk River. There were also 6 one goal victories over other NWSC opponents your Cougars managed to squeek out compared to Blaines 3 one goal over conference opponents. So it would be safe to say over all Blaine is the better team however on 2 nights that you played them the game could have gone either way and it went your way. Looking at the comparisions against confrerence oppenents Blaine showed they had what it took to go out and perform on a more consistant basis against conference oppenents than your Cougars....

All true. Centennial seemed to want to take nights off in conference games. I dont know if it was because of their tough non-conference schedule or what. Both teams ended up with 19-6 overall records also. Congratulations on your fine season, and good luck in sections.

champlin park lost to blaine 2-1 and cenntennial also by 2-1... twice. You can't base how good a team is on how many one goal games they win. Niether of these teams had an easy time with cp but cp will be 6-9 seed in 4AA.

Both teams also played their fair share of other opponents outside the conference, Blaine started the year with Cloquet, Theif River and Roseau and also played Brainered, Wayzata, and Burnsville, of which are very respectable teams, along with Centennial who picked up Morehead twice, Roseville, Holy Angels, Duluth East, and White Bear another group of decent teams. Overall it could be said they both played nearly identical schedules against teams who are very highly ranked in the state and came out with the same overall records. Only difference is the number of goals scored with Blaine posting 117 to Centennials 94. Never a bad thing to have both the High School Hockey Programs in Blaine share for the Conference title. . . The Sectional playoffs should be fun to watch and follow....

I kind of got that vibe too. They seemed to overlook conference opponents for their games against Moorhead, Roseville, ect....But a win is a win no matter how many goals it's by. Blaine did have more goals on the season but that's to be expected, Centennial was never really expected to put up big points (except for games against NM ) Bengal01, I won't argue who the true champ is because it's obvious who I would choose and I already know what your respsonse would be. It was interesting though that both teams won in nail-biters tonight. The Coon Rapids-Blaine rivalry was obviously in full effect, and Anoka was a solid team as well. The Cougars may have overlooked them a little bit because of all the attention from the Blaine game. JD played well in net for the tornadoes and the Cougars got another solid performance from Strand. Hanzalik's goal as time expired was a sweet way to finish off the regular season though thats for sure.

so how does a co-champ affect the NWSC points? Both teams had a great year, but it seems like the blaine fans who say they won in every aspect seem to miss the fact that they had a 5-3 that they couldn't finish. The first goal was a little lucky, but you cant find a prettier one-timer the the snipe that singer had
