ZAMBONI wrote:JRDEEEZ. If they beat Warroad I'm going to say, HUGE UPSET and Albert Lea had to play extra hard to earn it. Just because I'm from the same town don't mean I have to support it. Look at there schedule and also Warroad will test there goalie. I don't think there #1 goalie has been tested to the max yet this year. In the state tournament 1A you have about 2-3 teams that come from very weak sections. In the 1AA you have 1 team that comes from a weak section and that would be Rochester Century this year. And Century is down this year compared to the last two years.

The problem with SOME of the Albert Lea coaches, players and fans is that they don't stay in the reality of things. They build themselfs up to high. THE HIGHER YOU GO THE HARDER YOU FALL.
Which would mean you are incapable of falling at all.

ZAMBONI is right guys nobody should ever be confident ever, even after blowing their section away the way AL did. i mean what are you just supposed to say ok we won our section now were gonna quit? no, you wanna win that game, and AL has a chance. If you want to win, you have to believe you can win... do you expect for AL to come on here and predict themselves to lose? not happening because its still playoff time as far as im concerned and everyone knows anything can happen in the playoffs.

Two years ago Albert Lea gave Warroad all they could handle, I think neither team is as good as they were two years ago, but at least in Albert Lea's case they have more depth and more balanced scoring than they did two years ago. Warroad played a much tougher schedule down the stretch though and Albert Lea will have to adjust very quickly to the speed of the game, if they can I like Albert Lea 4-3.
goldy313,
I think you're right on the money with this.

Albert Lea IS a much deeper team than they were a couple years ago. They're a quick, hard working, tenacious team that just keeps coming at you, pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a Roy Nystrom coached team, only this time they have more skill and depth.

I think this team believes they can win.

The first 2 periods will be very close, but I look for AL to wear down Warroad by the 3rd and win 4-2.

Albert Lea got the best draw in the seeding. Warroad got their #4 seed on name alone. I hope AL wins this one 3-2.

Agreed.
AL got the perfect draw.
AL would struggle to match Hermantown/DMarshall/LFalls offense, but they will be looking in a mirror against Warroad.
First-line centers are tough, hard-nosed kids who run the show. Both teams are physical at all positions and don't allow any easy chances.
This is the best first-round matchup imo. Maybe not the best two teams, but the two that are the most evenly matched.
AL by one or two.

AL 2-1. Cassanova will play out of his mind. AL is playing their best hockey of the year and it couldn't be at a better time. They got the best possible draw. I do not know much about Warroad, but from what you say they are a pretty good team, but they aren't as good as years past. Section 1A is due for a win at state. AL is just the team to do it.

Marvin and #19 for warroad with any points at all the rest barely have 20 so unless if they are going to put up all 9 points or unless you are expectin the others to step up BIG...

*warroad has marvin and #19 everyone else has about 5 or 10 points.
*AL has 5 ppl with at least 30 points and
*also their goaltending has a 93% save percentage and avgs. less than 2 goals against
*warroads netminder has less than 90% save percentage and is averaging about 3 goals a game!
*just telling ya the numbers.... HAVE FUN RELAX!! rite lunchwomen! good luck boys!

I can assure you that Warroad has NO shot of putting up 9 on this team.

Warroad is a 4 seed based on name recognition and tradition - not because they earned it.

AL wins this game.

I agree - Warroad will not put up 9 on this team. And, I also agree that they may have gotten the #4 seed based upon tradition. However, AL has a much weaker schedule and no tradition. So, you are correct but nothing to get upset about.

In this 2007 Minnesota State Class A Boy Hockey Quarterfinal game, I'm thinking...
