Rogers @ Buffalo Jan. 24th

Post by Can't Never Tried »

Not many M8 games deserve their own topic, but this one will be a great hockey game at the Buffalo Civic Center Thursday 1/24.

Both teams come into this game undefeated in the conference, and with a 2-2 tie in the 1st meeting back in mid Dec. at Rogers.

These teams match up very well,
Buffalo 8AA brings a 7-0-1 conf. record with 47 goals for and 13 against in the conf. And 3-2 record in section play.
Rogers 5AA with a 6-0-1 conf. Record and 43 goals for and 7 against in the conf. And 2-2 in section play.

This game most likely will decide who wins the M8 conference this year, and with the last 3 meetings having been ties, this will be one of the best games these two have ever had against each other.

Overall records this season.
Buffalo 10-5-1 Goals for and against 69-37
Rogers 12-5-1 Goals for and against 89-50

Rogers is riding an 8 game winning streak coming in to this game, giving up only 11 goals in those last 8 games.

Buffalo is coming in 7-1 in their last 8 games, with nice showing against the Rams as their only loss of the stretch, and giving up only 17 goals in those last 8 games.

Who’s your pick ?

I'm going with the home town Bison. This will be the game Buffalo bounces back after a couple of dissapointing wins over cambridge and STMA.

I am taking the Bison...however, if they play like they have the past couple times out they will get blown off the ice...they will also need to change it up against Rogers who obviously is fimiliar with their team...

Do you guys mind if I hang out in this thread awhile? Way too much how great is Roseau/Ness going on in the rest of the board. I knew we'd be in trouble when the internet got north of HWY 2, but I didn't think it would be this bad.

Buffalo is a very tough place to play and I think everyone knows that. But I think the rogers boys have turned the corner after christmas and they are on a serious mission. This game will be very intense on both sides. But I am going to go with history and say this one will go to OT and it will be decided in 8 minutes of hockey. It will end with rogers scoring in OT and winning 4-3.

so those aren't smoke signals I am seeing in the northern sky??

yeah but it's still DSL at best, they are miles from the nearest hub, and they type about 3 words a minute. It must have just been surge from this weekend that got built-up and dumped all at once :P

Jensen is good but Buffalo has a few forwards that will keep him busy on the defensive side of the ice...hopefully. My prediction is that if Josh Provo doesn't score the Bison will win...Provo has 4 goals in the last 3 games these teams have faced off..
