I got a chance to see the rams in person when they made their southern trip to St Cloud and Brainerd, they have some very talented players which move the puck with incredible speed and accuracy but the best player may be their goalie. Playing a more challenging schedule would have made them an even better team; yes it is possible, that’s kind of scary. The potential rival teams that may play them in March should be thankful that Rams are not as seasoned as some of the metro powers. But that being said in less than a week everything that has happened in the regular season will mean NOTHING. Lose one and you done in the quest for the Championship Crown…..good luck to all teams north and south in the upcoming playoffs.

Not sure what a private school "cahnce" is but kids should stay and play for their community!

I am a firm believer in the public schools and a product of them myself. However, your comment seems woefully ignorant. Viable private school options are needed in our country as an alternative for the children and families that choose them.

If my son were a standout hockey player in Prior Lake or Buffalo I'm sure the option of enrolling in private school would be more appealing than moving or being part of a program getting pasted regularly.

the main advantage bigger schools or private schools have is consistancy. When you have 100 kids to choose from every year you will amost always get 20 good players, or in the private schools case you just recruit 20. Anyway, with smaller schools like Roseau and Warroad, you have years where you just don't have the talent pool to choose from, look at Roseau's team from the beginning of the century. They held the team record for least amount of wins in a season (5) about half way between their 99 championship and their 07 championship.

Even the biggest schools get about half that trying out. Everyone knows who the top ten are, and their isn't 90 bubble kids.

In hockey its quality not quantity. You only need one or 2 very good players, a handful of good players , and then some guys who can get in the other teams way for a few minutes to win a championship.

Big hockey schools will get that mix more often than small hockey schools but not every year. Its not like football.


It sounds like BIAFP is trying to put together that community league again. Let us know when that happens BIAFP but until then the kids play for their high schools.

Ah david, half of the AA championships in this decade, this century,indeed this milenium have been won by Class A sized schools.

Last year the AA champ was smaller than the A.
