How a team like Lakeville South/North gets in to the state tournement after the way Burnsville played tonight is utter crap. Whoever comes up with sections should be shot. Every year teams in the top 10 get screwed over and put into the same section while there are other sections that a .500 team could win. Utter crap.

Great game by both teams, it was a fun one to watch. Becker played great for Burnsville, but Edina was just too much.

You may have some health problems if its CRAP coming from your utters (udders?)..

Anywho..

Congrat's to Edina on the win, but congrats to both teams on a hard fought, amazing game.

Better luck to you next season Burnsville. RESPECT!

I agree. It stinks that a team like Burnsville doesn't get to play in the State Tournament. Great season boys, you have nothing to be ashamed of.

Which gets me thinking... Why don't they come up with sections at the end of the regular season??? I can't think of any reason outside of some teams being too far apart to play each other.

One of the best games Goldy has seen in quite some time. Both teams played really well and I was very impressed by the way Burnsville came out and played with Edina. Burnsville's goalie really held them in there toward the end of the 3rd and in OT. After he let in the goal I thought it was very classy how he skated right out to center ice and stood there waiting to shake hands. What I didn't find so classy was the Burnsville player who felt it was necessary to kick his helmet across the ice during Edina's celebration.
The U invented swagger.

Were you expecting Edina to roll through this one?

Perhaps thinking more and posting less will help. You're not raising any new issues here.

Just got back. 2 great games. BSM surprised the hell out of me but not as much as Tonka. They had looks of astonishment when they lost. They couldn't contain the BSM 1st line over the last 15 minutes.
Edina gave up a couple softys especially the 1st goal. But just like last year Burnsvilles goaly was real tough and both of their lines played the best they can.

Got to say Burnsville was very classy in the loss. If I understood the announcer right, the Goalie was the first in line to shake hands. They worked hard and should be proud. Sounds like a classy bunch. I think Brunsville will be a contender for a long time to come.

watching at the game tonight I just kept getting frustrated watching Burnsville's goalie play one hell of a game. I got really nervous in overtime, though Edina played some great defense. I'm not sure Burnsville had a single shot actually go on goal during OT.
I think at the point of the 2nd Edina goal, they had 13 shots. They ended the game with something like 48 shots. Not counting the penalty shot, Becker saved 34 straight shots.
Caschetta looked shaky at first, giving up a very soft goal, but he rebounded well, making some great saves, a good sign that his confidence isn't as easily rattled as before.
Also, who else was really excited for the penalty shot? Those are some of the most fun moments of hockey.

GREAT GAME!!! wow! best game ive seen edina play since last time these 2 teams played back earlier this season! the burnsville team played tough (especially hendy and barnes) but EDINA deserved to win this one. they played better and if it wasnt for rusty (caschetta) letting in a garbage goal in the 1st and the refs missing an OBVIOUS trip for b-ville to tie it up in the 3rd...this game would have been 3-1. but boy was it fun to watch!!!

Go Hornets!!!!

Budish/Everson/Lee....can there be 3 mr. hockey finalists on 1 team?!?! cant wait for 09 baby...

The penalty shot was a lot of fun. Great drama, the Burnsville student section was going nuts making noise while Lee lined-up at center ice and they kept the cheer going while he went in on goal. Wrist shot top left. Just like in the movies.
On the notion that Burnsville will be back, I beg to differ. That top line and the goaly are seniors.

I was on the far side from the goal, so I may be wrong, but wasn't it bottom left?

Barnes is about 60% and looked hurt and tired could not do much. top line for Edina had all 4 goals wow.. A game that was called much much much in favor of Edina but the hornets are a great team. 13-0 shots in OT by the way!
