It's summer hockey, stats don't matter. I would think the college coaches might just know the difference.SportsMa wrote:Stats are wrong, too, as refs did a couple number reversals for goal scorers and assists in at least three games daughter played in at the 19u level. The girls did not seem too concerned about it though.
In talking to a parent who had a daughter playing in the 16u level the refs even gave credit to a goalie in one of their games and no, she did not score the goal.
Not sure why across divisions they were having so much trouble there were three of them out on the ice.
Agree it is summer hockey and stats don't really matter much but was simply adding another example of where the stats were flawed past other posters' comments.
I guess I don't quite get why you would not want to give the goals and assists to the correct numbers though as a ref as well as goalie changes, no matter what level of hockey it is. Why go through the trouble of pointstreak even then if it is simply summer hockey. Practice officiating the way you really officiate if summer hockey is a form of officials' practice. Before I get flamed on I do have adult children as well as nephews that officiate so I fully do get it is a thankless job.
Talked to a college coach and he recognized that numbers and players did not match up on scoring, goalies or even rosters so yeah, he obviously knew the difference. He was more frustrated with the roster and name inaccuracies but he evaluated the ones he came to see and left.
