I think Schmitz the kid who came up while Pitlick was out, wasn't he, Neut? I saw him play the game at Maple Grove, and he looked like he was getting knocked around a little bit, but seemed to be a pretty good skater. Add a little beef and get a little more salty with the opposition and he may be able to make a good contribuation to the Chefs (or whatever they're calledCan't Never Tried wrote:I respected what you said till you threw that Neut comment in thereThe Exiled One wrote:Adams, Hess, and Schmitz aren't considered to be among the top two of players returning from their respective teams, which is why I labeled them "sleepers". Bill Simon tore up the Elite League, which is why he's somebody to keep an eye on. I read some positive scouting reports on Mausolf, which is why I included him. Widing was buried behind Cecka, Kohls, Zepeda, and Furne. Likewise with Hotchkin being overshadowed by Johnson and Stafne. Again, I kinda see everything from a college perspective though. I suppose I could have left Rehkamp off, but even though they made it to the section finals, Breck seemed kind of quiet last year. Can't Never Tried wrote: Well as I remember all to well... in sections Hess played pretty good ....other then the Blaine game, but that was a total disappointment way beyond just his play.
The Adams kid is quite player from what I've been able to see as well,
Rehkamp is also a good player brings a ton of hustle on every shift.
These guys just don't seem like what I would call sleepers at least at the MSHSL level.
I calls em like I sees em!
Thanks for backing me up Neut.![]()
Very good assessment, I'm going more on what I've seen then reports others are giving, and that may just be where we see it a bit different.
That's enough though or they won't be sleepers anymore.

Schmitz is Defense, and trust me, he doesn't get knocked around. I'm guessing your talking about Hughes or Brickner.Govs93 wrote:

I stand corrected - it was Hughes I was thinking of. From 2/9/08:Neutron 14 wrote:Schmitz is Defense, and trust me, he doesn't get knocked around. I'm guessing your talking about Hughes or Brickner.Govs93 wrote:

He does seem a little timid - I didn't realize this wasn't his line. That may explain it.Neutron 14 wrote:Lovick at center?Govs93 wrote: Looks like Hughes is out there with Hess & Lovick.
Centennial goalie is?

Eckman from TH was my teamate last year. he did have a problem with his hip last year but he should dominate this year. he has a few good wingers to give him some support like Scott Comrie and a few under classman look strong too. Also i would say Casey Hanson is a very underrated D man on the team as well. also a senior. I havent got a chance to see the team skate yet tho so my guess is as good as your guys. I think they will be down from last year, but with a team like TH, there cud always be an upset or two during the reg. season or playoffs.

I will give you a little help, just because you play on the 4th line at Roseau doesn't mean we should have heard about you.
What is is your issue. My posting is who are the sleepers that are not playing at the communist Elite 1 level, that will be major role players on their high school team and will be un noticed by the media or the "who know who" Elite 1 teams. Elite 1's is now joke after seeing some of these kids chosen play on these teams. Elite 1 teams are based upon potential rather than kids that are competitive. There are a lot of talented senior kids in Minnesota that will play major roles on their high school team that never had a chance to play Elite 1 or have an opportunity to compete at the USHL level because they are not on their U-15 or developmental teams radar.

I agree with you 100%................ maybe 75%. My shot wasn't at you, but I think most of us have heard or know about the kids in Roseau. They have been in the media, I was just stating just because they play for Roseau doesn't mean that every player from Roseau should be Noticed. There are kids on ST Paul Como or St Bernards those are the ones that go un-noticed. Read all of the posts before you take issue with my comment.

Tyler Rose, Senior, Como. put him in the lineup with some better players and we would't be talking about him here as you would already know him.
Some of these kids who's names are "Out There" aren't as good as you think. It's the conference and the teammates. You could put a number of kids on a line with Buddish and Everson and they would rack up the points. Don't always believe the hype, some people just look at the stats column and think that is where it's at.

Back to his natural position. He was moved up to forward last year to compensate for all the defections to USHL and kicked off forwards. He's back on D and will most likely run a PP unit. Hopefully the PP units will add goals, instead of giving them up, like last years team.Don Imus wrote:Hoffman got moved to defense?BodyShots wrote:From WBL

and Collette should have a great year.

I agree. These two are VERY good players who have been hindered a bit with injuries. (Horgan more so than Persian) They should both have outstanding Senior years. Another senior Orono player worth mentioning and watching is Persian's linemate, Brett Skoog.hockeyguy09 wrote:Riley Horgan-Mound

Two good but not GREAT players. Maybe could do things in college.
