According to the MGHCA website http://mghca.com/test/general/teampage.php?team_id=91
Mayo - Faribault was a 1-1 tie. Was it a good game?

Rocket, the Star Tribune has it 4-1 Mayo in this morning's paper, and someone in the Scores thread also said this was the final score.

Was not a good game for Faribault. Stood around the coach said. The first period was a good game from there on down, the Falcons stunk it up.

MGHCA and MSHSL are not updated well today.

JML vs Century ??
Mankato W vs AL 3-1 valid? West is off to a 4-0 start.
Kasson/Mant vs mankato E 9-1
MayovFaribault incorrect?
Northfield over NP 2-1 and off to a 4-0 start.

Looks like everyone's picking on Waseca so far {combined 34-3}.

West vs Al

Post by KatoDad »

Yes West won 3-1. This was a hard fought victory though. I didn’t think either team played particularly well which resulted in plenty of penalties too. Albert Lea did a great job of killing them off though. Although West is 4-0 I’ve not seen the spark in West yet like I did last year. They did have a significant player injury in the St Peter game that took out the starting right winger for 2 weeks. This seemed too messed up lines and rotations; it seems a little disorganized to me. They had been playing three lines which was nice; it gave the top gun line time to rest. Now with the injury they moved people around and went back to a two line rotation and fill gaps when rests are needed. We have only 1 senior out of 9 forwards which consists of 1 junior, 3 Sophomores, 1 Freshmen, 2 eighth graders and a seventh grader. Owatonna and Albert Lea were rough games which took a lot out of the younger girls. Possibly different out come when we play those teams on the road.

Mayo 4 Faribault 1

Faribault looked good 1st period, and scored first on a breakaway, Mayo caught pinching...
Also contributing to the even 1st period play was that one of Mayo's best players sat the whole 1st period. Lines were jumbled and it showed, although not terrible. But when the player returned the whole game changed, and Mayo dominated a majority of play in 2nd and 3rd...

A SHOUT OUT TO NORTHFIELD.

4 AND 0.

Impressive. Players of the week. The entire Northfield team. They may have learned how to win. :D

Haven't seen Austin play but heard Falcons, took kind of a beatin up North. This will be thier 1st conference game, I think they will come out firing for a win.

My pick Falcons 4
Austin 2

Well if you're talking about Austin taking a beating up north that is not true. Tied every game. Pretty dang good I would say. I haven't seen Faribo play at all. They should really put spell check on the forum. I believe it is spelled THEIR.

Northfield 4
Redwing 3

It was a really close game. Northfield was either ahead by one or it was tied. Northfield came out flat and didn't play well. Red Wing looked good, they don't seem to depend on just one player anymore. It'll be interesting to see if Northfield can keep up this winning streak with F'bo next on the schedule.

Congrats Northfield.......the new team to beat. 5-0, undefeated in section 1A.

Taking names....spell check? it is called an education. You first need to excel in reading comprehension. Hockey groupie was talking about Faribault taking a beating up north. Time for Austin to take another beat down.

Faribault 6
Austin 2.

No offense to anyone, but in my eyes the Red Wing - Northfield game wasn't really that close. Shot were like 25-11 in favor of Red Wing and much of the play was in Northfield's end. Shots in the first period alone were 10-2. One of Northfield's goals was a dump in from the blue line that was misplayed and the three others were all in the crease.

Red Wing will be there in the end, so don't get use to the losing. Haley and the staff will get them winning the one goal games instead of losing them.

Red wing is a good team. It sounds like it came down to great goaltending and defensive play by Northfield. That is northfield's style. Great goaltending. Last time I checked the goalie is a very important part of the hockey team.

Falcon 89, I take it you lack on a good education. With Austin's quick skaters they could beat your team. It will be a good game if they play as a team. I really cant wait though to come and watch when albert lea plays your team and just slaughters them.

No doubt Red Wing is a great team who will cause trouble for any team on any given night. I believe in every game Northfield has played so far they've been outshot. They have a great goalie who stand on her head for them. Most of Northfield's goals have been in near the crease, it may prove to be their offensive strength. It'll be fun to watch all these teams compete.

No doubt, Northfield has a great goalie. Two of the goals she gave up were arguably not her fault. Obviously Northfield is doing something right. They are not 5-0 for nothing.

Wow, didn't know we had to be perfect to be on this worthy forum. Lighten up! If you would have read this correctly, it said that Faribault had a tough time up north.
Obviously you must be from Austin as usual they need anger management classes down there(thier, their) whatever!

falcon 89 unlike that person I actually got to play in games instead of sitting on the bench. I will say this I did however play on the same team.
Obviously hockeygroupie Austin is just a competitive town. Besides by some of the post that you have posted I would think you could use some Anger help.
