Well I don't know the exect scores because scores are not kept track of. But in the Hutch vs NU match up Hutch played better and scored more goals. Willmar vs Hutch, I think Willmar scored more and played better. And in the NU vs Willmar, NU out skated Willmar. Windom was outskated by all the teams and Litch was outplayed by all buy Windom. Both of these teams did show some signs of good play and on a good night could beat one of the better teams. I think right now it is a toss up between Hutch, NU, Willmar.

Willmar did outplay Hutchinson but i think the fact that Hutch played New Ulm already at 8:30 had a big factor in their play.

adding to the fact they played new ulm early, i talked to a few of the kids from hutch and they said they played their 4th line instead of their 3rd that scrimmage to get them some looks.

All teams played 4 games. As I remember Hutch beat NU at 8:30 then later in the day they lost to Willmar, Later in the day NU beat Willmar. To me it sounds like the teams are even. Maybe Willmar And NU played a 4th line later too?

Yes NU beat Willmar after Willmar had a scrimage, when Hutch Played Willmar they had already played one game but Willmar had not therefore they would be fresher, correct?

Yes you are right but the scrimmage was anly 45 minnutes and they had some time off between games correct? My point is I think the teams are real close right now and any one of them could win.

NU just has too many section runner-ups. Hopefully they can take it this year with their young sophs and returning seniors.

I can't believe some many drank the purple potion. I am shocked so many think New Ulm will be good this year. In there scrimmages they seemed like every other team. The thing with New Ulm in the last few years is that the team they put out on the ice on the first day is the exact team they put out in their last game. Meaning they don't seem to improve there players at all They lost several of there best players including Burgau (who left to improve his game, weird) as well as a few big senior forwards. Reinart has never shown to be a complete player and when gets bumped finds himself out of the game. I think it will be worse this year after suffering from major injury over the summer. There best defense Kohn I heard didn't even step on the ice this summer which is never a good sign from a so-called leader. From what I hear two out of there four goalies have quit leaving them with only Wiggins and an unready sophomore goalie for there J.V. and varsity. Finally the one thing that New Ulm has had over many of these teams was a better strength of schedule. This year I don't think they have a single top twenty team on there schedule. That is just sad to think that New Ulm was playing several top twenty teams a year no less then five years ago. All this together makes me scratch my head on how yet another year New Ulm people can crow about being the team to beat only to have to eat it at the end of the year. Wow

NU always goes deep into sections. The sophmores are talented, and there is enough returning talent to carry the team deep. I wouldn't mind hearing your pick for the section.

Hoser where did you get all this information. First of all the two goalies that quit, one is now skating out and the other knew that he would not see varsity time so he decided to quit. as well as for the other two goalies wiggins was a big part of the team in the end of the season last year stepping up big for them. and as for the sophomore goalie burgau he is more than capable to play at this level.Reinarts one of the best forwards in the section. And as for Kohn you have no idea what you are talking about right after the season ended was playing at the select 17 tournament, went to Des Moines for a week for a bucs try-out, went to an express try-out, spent a week at model camp, played with the rest of the new ulm boys in the mankato summer league, also after that played in the Elite 2 league right up until almost the start of the season, he also didnt even get a try-out for elite one.Sounds like he stepped out there a few times. reasons top twenty teams dont play them anymore is because new ulm would give them a good run. New Prague stopped playing cause new ulm used to beat them. St. Cloud Cathedral stopped playing them cause two years in a row the eagles lost by one goal to them and they said it would hurt there ranking right before the state tournament. For years they played Rochester lourdes well but they just wanted to play cities teams who are better compation like any team would want to.
theres some real information for you

sc_elite. Don't shoot the messenger as far as Kohn goes that is what I heard from my little birds. I apologize if my info was wrong. I still stand by my earlier statements about Reinharts, he just doesn't impress me as a big time player. I would love for him to prove me wrong but the few times I saw him last year I never saw him find a corner that he liked to go into. Your final statement is puzzling to me. I just don't follow that the good teams you played didn't want to play you because you were good competition and beat them and yet they left playing you because they wanted to play better? When was the last time New Prague lost to New Ulm? It has been a while I think. Im just puzzled that if your were so competitive with these teams why wouldn't they want to still play you? Why wouldn't New Ulm try to play more city teams as well? Instead they drive three hours to play Winona or Dodge County how is that stepping up? With Hutch playing solid competition all year long from there conference, Litch playing teams like Orono, St. Cloud, MWtonka. and Willmar also have a much tougher schedule as well, they will get better by playing better competition. New Ulm on the other hand is playing weakest schedule they have had in least at the very minimum a decade (I looked at minnhock you can to if you don't believe me.) I just don't follow your point in defending a weak schedule and saying that it is not your fault. I think it is one of the downfalls of the New Ulm team

I also think they have a weak schedule, but who makes it, coach or AD? Also playing in a better confrance makes a differance. The key is to get better as the year goes on no matter who you play.

Yeah why would new prague want to drive all teh way to New Ulm to play when they can drive a half hour to the cities and play great compation for them with teams like Breck, Blake, and St. Thomas. The same thing goes for Cathedral and Rochester. Why would they come to New Ulm rather then go play better teams and as of now those teams have out grown New Ulm. Last time New Ulm played New Prague was 06-07 year and lost to them, but the year before that New Ulm beat them in New Prague. Im not defending there weak schedule is just the other teams are lucky enough to play in some decient confrences where as new ulm is stuck in the South Central Confrence of them fairmont st. Peter and waseca. Its to bad that they cant schedule some better teams to play, but to fill the schedule sometimes you have to play some less then great teams.

weakest section in the state who cares. The team that won it last year took dead last in the St. Cloud Granite City Classic, they even lost to a crappy ND team bismark century

The sec might be a little weak but I still think the kids are out there giving it there all. I don't think it matters to the kids that you don't care about this sec. I enjoy watching games in this sec you never know whos going to win.

For people wondering the score of the NU Hutch meeting, Hutch won 4-1. Zack Ficsher scored for NU, I know #27 scored for Hutch at least once.

New Ulm wins last night vs. St. peter 5-2, reinarts 2 goals, sophomore Kaleb Juntunen steps up with 2 goals..They are my pick for sections this year. Solid group of sophomores and returners.
