If these commentators keep gushing about Ben Marshall, I'm gonna puke. Are there no other Mahtomedi players on the ice?

It was Kevin Gorg, what do you expect? He's an idiot.

Mahtomedi has one very good line, and exactly one defenseman of note. Owatonna doesn't have even that. There was very little in this game, to gush about.

Marshall is good, but it wasn't that difficult to stand out in this group. He's a sophomore, and he has already committed to the U, is that right?
He's a fast and tough little bugger, but I would think he's going to need to grow a bit before he steps into WCHA action.

I am sure he will play in the WCHA but, even Gorg had to finally say he is a little wet behind the ears.

You have to remember he is still adjusting to a new full time position on defense. With some years of growth ahead of him and getting situated to playing defense, he should be ready to roll by the time he hits college. The tools are definitely there though.

Well, I don't know his entire playing history but I was under the impression that he played forward for a while prior to this past year.

So why make the comment?

Because I had been told that and I had read it in different places. If you go back and read US Hockey Report, they state on more than one occasion on that site that he transitioned from forward to defense in the prior year.

He played forward during the select 15's
