How disturbing that someone would come into this fourm and try to add civility to it!!

This is a close section, however I believe the experiance that Fbo got going to the finals last year will really pay off. The whole core of girls have been there and know what it takes to get there. The shock and awe will be gone and they will be able to focus on the game. RW and Nfld, don't have that experiance. These girls are a year older and more mature. We don't have an 8th grader in net that just got pulled up that year for varsity.

Go Green!!!!!

T are you not over your posting limit. I thought your coach would only allow you to post once a week. Now, T, Be a little good obedient parent and follow your coach's censureship. :D

The only thing bad about being seeded #3, is that we can not send Albert Lea home early, again. Someone else gets to end their season.

The Raiders are doing just fine. Two bad losses to prior lake 0-5 (end of finals week) and Dodge County 3-4 OT(missing key player), but the other five losses were to good teams: Red Wing (4-2 with EN), Holy Angels 4-2 (minus a forward), Shakopee 4-1 (14-0-2 to end the season), Hutchinson (6-4 @ Hutch-minus a top D), and Farmington 3-4 OT (minus a center). It was a tough stretch, but we are just fine. Thank you for your concern, it is nice to feel loved. We are ready regardless of who we play.

Everything the above poser said is true, but it's so easy to make excuses like that. Nfld has been missing players and playing tough teams but they also haven't been playing like they were in the beginning of the season. The Farmington game looked like Nfld had returned to their style of play but we'll have to see about that in sections.

Good luck to all teams in playoffs. As it has been proven this season, any team can win on any given night.

4. Albert Lea
5. Austin
6. Waseca
Absolute brilliance. I am the greatest. The perfect picks.

Hey Northfield, excuses are like *********, everyone has one and they all stink. You almost sound like Albert Lea. I was really losing sleep over the sudden collapse of Northfield. You have now put me at ease.

OK, target is on Northfield, let the puck shooting begin. Northfield should easily be in the championship. Redwing kind of has something to prove, sort of got snubbed. But, I imagine all those northfield excuses came into play at the section meeting. :D

1. Austin

3. Faribault
4. Northfield
5. Red Wing
6. Waseca

Someone correct me if this is wrong. Faribault thumped AL the got thumped in Section final to Austin.

You guys do realize that this is High School hockey right? These are not professional athletes, professional coaches, and you are not tv analysts. RSI, how come you never wrote a post praising the AL coach after AL beat Faribault? You ripped him, and the AD completely after you lost to Austin, shouldn't you praise him when AL wins? It's all coaching right? As far as all the Falcon's fans go, it's not that amazing to predict the seedings. Look at the records, look at head to head, look at stats, it's not rocket science.
Finally, stop trying to 'psych' players out if you are an adult. It's embarrassing how adults on this forum try to mess with players and then just say it's all in fun. Falcons 89 and Falcons friend, you may say it's all in fun, but adults should not be trying to manipulate the emotions of high school girls (they are insecure enough as it is). If you are just joking around with each other, it should not be done on a public forum.
By the way, I am not a player, parent, or have any connection to section 1A, but here's some advice:
1. Cheer and support your daughter, team and her coach
2. Quit ripping other teams, players and coaches. Especially stop trying to manipulate HS girls. You may think you are just playing around, but you do have an effect on them. They are not professional athletes.
3. Realize that this is just a game
4. If you think it's so easy, become a coach
5. Good luck in sections to all teams. The competition should be good in section 1A.
6. Remember, last year Faribault beat Albert Lea, Austin smoked Faribault, Austin beat Marshall, then Austin got crushed by Breck . . . there are better teams out there section 1A

Good luck.

:-k I think that is why it is called highschoolhockey forum.

:-k refer to above. hint: this is the internet....you can be whoever you want to be.

(I think this statement alone reveals the identity of this author, or close proximity.) Great point, I thought the Albert Lea girls won that game with hard work and desire. I am now relieved that it was all coaching. :-k

I think we made these predictions before the season started. Come on , catch up, it is rocket science.

Wow I feel powerful now, I never new we held the key to winning the section 1A championship here. Cancel the tourney, it is all played right here.  Public forum? Did I have to log on to this sight? :-k

Yea sure, you just stumbled onto this "public forum" after creating an id and logging on.

Great knowledge for somebody who "By the way, I am not a player, parent, or have any connection to section 1A"

You gave me a great laugh this monday morning. I am glad to see the Albert Lea folk are starting to come out of the woodwork. :D :D

Southside sorry about the 2 seed. We will hate to see your girls go home early. Fbo gets the warmup game while your team sits idle. Fbo's experiance gets them the win.

It will be a good game. My prediction:

Fbo 4
RW 3

I won't waist my time on the previous posts, 89 already covered that with their great mind.

NFLD's on a slide, but AL isn't coached well enough to upset them, right RSI.

GO GREEN!!!!!!!

No worries Falcon 89! Although I was a little disappointed that the girls didn't get the #1 seed, we were going to have to beat you in the championship anyways. :P

Not sure playing Waseca isn't the same as sitting idle. I think scrimmaging our U12's would give us the same game situations you will face on Friday. :D (By the way, our U12's won the highly competitive Winona tourney this weekend, Congrats!)

My prediction: Red Wing 3 - Faribault 2

You didn't think I would bet against us did you?!?! Good Luck!

perspective,
Thanks for the input and welcome to the forum.
I posted my message "ripping" the AD because in my view there has been a pattern over the past 2 seasons of underachieving by the AL girls. If said program develops a pattern of achievement that is, at minimum, equal to their ability I will be the first in line singing their praises.

Seeds 1 - 5 are almost the exact inverse of last year.
Last year if I remember right seedings were:
1. Austin
2. Albert Lea
3. Faribault
4. Northfield
5. Red Wing
6. Waseca

Well, I'm obviously out of my league here, but I'll reply and then let the site go back to normal. I have absolutely nothing to do with Albert Lea or their coach (or anybody else from Section 1A for that matter). I defended the coach because I do not like it when coaches are blamed more than athletes. I am connected to another team from another section. Think what you want Falcons.
Thanks for responding Falcons, although most of your comments, at best, misunderstood my points, and at worst, tried to twist or distort what I said in an attempt to be funny. I did not "stumble onto" this public forum, but you do know that you don't need an ID to view this site right? You can view this whether or not you have an ID so that does make it a public forum. I have viewed this site many times and only recently formed an ID. And no, I didn't say that your comments won and lost games ("Cancel the tourney, it is all played right here." -good attempt to redirect what I was really saying by trying to be funny) however, if you are an adult and you don't acknowledge that your comments have an effect on HS girls, then you no idea what you are talking about. Like I said, HS girls, not professional athletes. You said, how do I know you don't coach. Do you coach? If so, what do you coach? I have trouble imagining that you do coach based on the immaturity of most of your comments.
RSI, Thanks for a reasonable response. I think you were too hard in your criticism of the coach. Coaches coach. Players play. Like I said, I am not associated with AL or this section, but I have seen AL play over the years and I wouldn't say that they are underachieving. I understand that it is frustrating when expectations of players and parents aren't met, but you have to be objective. Losing Christensen was a big loss and I think they have done a respectable job this season. Just my opinion.
Anyway, good luck to everyone in Section 1. Somebody's bound to make it to state!

P.S. Falcon fan, thanks for making it known that you didn't respond. You always just parrot what Falcons 89 says, but he says it better.

You have a 12 team? I though they were all on the varsity.

If you want to talk up the youth program, Fbo's 14A Team beat Rochester and had an excellent win against White Bear Lake at the Eden Prarrie Tourney. This is the group that will be adding depth to an already solid roster next year.

I wouldn't expect you to bet against your girls. We lost in O.T. the first game in your house, revenge is ours.

Good Luck all.

The new girls board is a probably a better place for this but...
At 14UA
Rochester is 3-9-1 15+ 14U kids jumped to H/S early
Wh Bear Lk is 2-5-3
Faribault is 5-7-1
Hard to imagine any of their schools getting alot of help immediately until those kids have more development time. No slam intended to any of the kids, coaches or programs.

RedWing 12UB is 12-2-0 but that is their top 12U team. Looked at Winona tournaments pools and they stuck RW with the toughest pool (Mahtomedi is 20-0-1).
