2AA- Chaska- They have a strong first line and can score, problem here is goaltending has been in question most of the year. Lets be serious though one of the top 3 teams will win this section. Burnsville would be the obvious other but I like Chaska to beat them in the 4-5 game.

Burnsville just beat Chaska last weekend 7-5.

Cloquet. #6 I can see them beating Grand Rapids, and give Elk River a run for their money ??

Best of luck to All 7AA teams..

7AA comments interesting

While I appreciate your comments about Cloquet, there is no way they're going to do anything beyond their 1st or 2nd games in sectionals. Just not enough horses to stay with other teams. I've seen them play five times this year, and have not been real impressed yet.

But, I could be wrong.

I know that happened it was 7-5 with an EN. Doesn't mean the same thing will happen in sections.

My predictions were for those teams to pull an upset, not 2 or 3 upsets.
There is no way Winona or Cloquet makes state but I can see them winning a game as an underdog.

And yes karma can win a game. Cloquet is down and people are looking past them so I think they can beat GR if Rendle is contained and they crash the net and get after Underwood.

Winona has beaten a couple of teams 'they shouldn't this year.

Okay, that makes more sense to me. I assumed you were predicting teams that had a chance at winning the section, not just a game.

In that case, it wouldn't shock me if the Jack upset Rapids.

1AA - Lakeville South
2AA - Burnsville. Holy Angels doesn't have enough to beat Edina or Jefferson.
3AA - Eagan or Hastings are both capable of pulling upsets
4AA - Roseville. HM isn't as great as everyone gives them credit for, and when I went to the Roseville WBL game, Roseville dominated them pretty thoroughly.
5AA - Maple Grove. It could be argued that Maple Grove or Centennial pulling it off wouldn't really be an upset, but I'm just sick of watching MG blow it at the coliseum against Blaine.
6AA - Wayzata (though, EP is my pick to take the whole thing)
7AA - Andover. They play an extremely tough schedule and they've played some good teams close.
8AA - Roseau. It's not easy to win a rivalry match up three times in the same season when the teams are as evenly matched as they are this year. Sorry Spuds.

1A - Both Albert Lea and Lourdes are capable of upsetting Red Wing
2A - Blake. They're not as good as they've been in previous years, but this section is almost always Breck vs Blake in the finals. In a game that emotional any thing can happen.
3A - Litchfield - not gonna claim to know anything about any team in this section.. heh
4A - Mahtomedi - Tied STA last time they played. Could be another close one. This will be an interesting section to watch
5A - Hermantown. Seems to be the only team that can beat SCC
6A - This might be the only section where I really don't think an upset is possible. Ben Hanowski vs the world.
7A - International Falls or Marshall. Both capable of winning this section
8A - Thief River Falls. Though, Warroad will likely be in the tournament again.

1AA - Century. Saw them play against East and do very well. Not much offense to their team, but top notch defense.
2AA - Holy Angels. They have lost to Edina, but not very respected due to their conference and non-MSHSL games.
3AA - Cretin is the only realistic choice here. Plus it would be nice to see a private school playing for the AA title, even if it is Cretin.
4AA - Roseville. Not sure that any of the top 4 coming out can really be considered an upset, but this is close
5AA - Maple Grove. Watching Blaine and Centennial be hyped up all season and Maple Grove do well under the radar it would be nice to see them make it.
6AA - BSM. Not exactly an upset, but they haven't been talked about much.
7AA - Elk River. Skating all season to quality losses against good teams and winning this section would earn them some deserved respect.
8AA - Tech. Roseau winning wouldn't be an upset, it would just be what usually happens; you don't win head to head three times. Tech has tied both teams; 1996 was the last year neither Moorhead nor Roseau made it to state.

1A - Lourdes is 7-2 in section play including a 3-1 win at Red Wing. This is a very tight section.
2A - Richfield. Only quality losses on their schedule. Too bad they got such a low seed despite no section losses.
3A - Hutchinson. Better experience than New Ulm during the season. Match up should be similar to first.
4A - Mahtomedi - Tied STA last time they played. Could be another close one. This will be an interesting section to watch
5A - Denfeld. Not that I think it'll happen, but Hermantown winning won't be an upset.
6A - Alexandria. Winning 3 times in a row is tough. They have two one goal losses to Little Falls.
7A - Marshall. Despite losses, they have experience in big games and have played tougher competition than the rest.
8A - Thief River Falls. Probably won't happen, but they are the only other team in the section with a winning section games record.

Karma baby!!!! Well that is one so far....keep 'em coming!

Congrats Jack - that makes your season. I doubt they can get by the Elks, but I know the Hounds are happy they were not the #8 seed!

Yes! Glad to see them pull of the win tonight! Rough season, but anytime you can get a quarterfinal win in sections in a bad year is somewhat of a consolation.
