So you are admitting that Hill-Murray does NOT recruit, instead they take in the cast aways from other programs that feel their programs can do better with out them. There are many, many differences between Housley & Brooks but one major one is Brooks was a winner!
I suspect one of the reasons the Stillwater players may have felt like puking after the game was because the Pioneers gave them & every other team in their section a chance this year & they all choked (which sometimes leads to puking). I believe the kids who reside in Stillwater, but attend HM, felt a little extra joy as their happiness came at the expense of Housley (and perhaps a player or two). Hill Murray is fortunate to have to coaches in Sager & Housley as neighbors as they continue to encourage players to slide away from their programs and come to Hill...keep up the good work guys!
As for "waiting to mame Hill next year", isn't that the battle cry for every team in their section...every year. Funny how next year rolls around and Hill ends team's season, forcing the losers to feel like puking.

Hahaha.... yeah, you're right! Good call, we love all the players and parents at Hill... oh, excuse me HATE ... still a bunch of prima donna's that think they're better than others just because Mommy and Daddy figured they'd pay their way on to a hockey team... a monkey could coach at Hill

the refs at the game were a joke, ive seen better refs at foot locker, and they couldnt call a penalty to save their life. the incident with shaughnessy was a result of a couple jelous stillwater kids trying to hurt him bacause there still jelous he played on the a teams well they played b2. all the hill kids from stillwater left stillwater because stillwater sucks and they actually want a chance to win a state title and win a gmae in sections.
Like a said, a Monkey could coach good players that turn their backs on former teammates from Stillwater, WBL, Park, Woodbury, Roseville etc. etc. it's gone on for 40 years.... I say we find Zera and Cornelius from Planet of The Apes and have them coach Hill... bunch of silver spoon whinersPioneerprideguy wrote:There are many, many differences between Housley & Brooks but one major one is Brooks was a winner!

well all the hill players from those cities were at a time the cities best players and they want a chance to win and know there not gonna get a chance to if they go their public high schools, so they turn to hillpolverine wrote:Like a said, a Monkey could coach good players that turn their backs on former teammates from Stillwater, WBL, Park, Woodbury, Roseville etc. etc. it's gone on for 40 years.... I always thought it would be better to stay with my teammates all the way through my senior year, through thick and thin and try to get to the tourney the hard way.... not by paying my way on to a private, semi-all star team.... the EASY way to the tourney...hshockeyguy0 wrote:well all the hill players from those cities were at a time the cities best players and they want a chance to win and know there not gonna get a chance to if they go their public high schools, so they turn to hillpolverine wrote:Like a said, a Monkey could coach good players that turn their backs on former teammates from Stillwater, WBL, Park, Woodbury, Roseville etc. etc. it's gone on for 40 years.... Hahaha.... Housley is a hockey legend I have the utmost respect for every move and decision he's made while coaching Stillwater. ... he encourages the cancerous families and players to leave the area. He doesn't want whiners and complainers in the stands and in the locker room. Those people and players are cancerous. Oh, and did you know that smoking weed can lead to cancer too. (not just by being a prima donna, hockey wanna-be at a private school taking the EASY road)Pioneerprideguy wrote:There are many, many differences between Housley & Brooks but one major one is Brooks was a winner!

sounds like some people just cant accept the fact hill murray has a good hockey team. when 90 kids try out, i dont exactly see this paying your way onto the team thing. We have the tradition of success, and looking no further than last year, we seem to be doing pretty well. People come here because the want to win and they want a shot at further success in hockey. Not to mention, family tradition on the hockey team. Maybe you should get to know the players and families before you judge them all as rich pricks who want to screw over their friends.

Also just think if there wasn't schools like Hill, CDH, Totino, BSM, AHA, St Bernards, St Agnes, Holy Family, Providence, Breck, St Thomas, Blake, Duluth Marshall, St Cloud Cathedral, Rochester Lourdes, Meadow Creek(yes you must take the good with the bad) Minnehaha Academy, Mounds Park Academy and who ever else I forgot, Where would all of these players have played? Sure Stillwater, Woodbury and Cottage Grove would have been better, but there would have been 35 kids on each of the 18 teams I listed that would have been sitting at home writing on thier laptops about who is better instead of playing thier butts off like last night.

As far as a bunch of monkeys being able to coach at Hill, you must have your head in the clouds. Bill Lechner is a class act, you can say all you want but the fact is, is that he is a fantastic coach. You look at the area's that lose a lot of kids, and they all talk about how they dont like the coach, so they go to a school that has shown in the past that it can win and get many players to the next level. You don't get to the next level just because you are good and have the talent as a 9th grader, somebody has to help you develop into a great hockey player. Lechner has shown the ability to get many players to the next level.
I am not a Hill player, parent, coach, or have any relation to the team. I just have the utmost respect for Bill Lechner especially after the year they had. Congratulations Hill.

Yes he has helped a few go onto the next level. But it was the ones that layed the foundation that started them on thier paths that should get the most credit. I don't see Bill Lectner turning water into wine, he is getting the top kids out of these programs not C level players and turning them into Division 1 prospects. How many of the current Hill hockey players played below the A level in Bantams or Peewees?? I bet you none of them did, How many of them were Advanced 15,16 or 17 candiates? I bet a larger % then any Public East Metro school has on it's roster.
So again the man didn't carry the 10 commandments down from the mountian, nor did he roll away the stone for Jesus (for all you non religious fans thats pernouced Hey-sus) nor did he part the Red Sea. He has taken a group of very good hockey players and won some games and yes class act or not I think even the most unquilified coach could find success with these kids.

how is tyring to injur the goalie after the whistle WAY better class then hill. wilson is a god awful hockey player and probably the least talented on the team he purposlet tried to run timmy then played it off like he wasnt trying anything... an how he is assistant captain i will never know  . and coach housley doesnt have so much class either because i had heard from some friends on the hill team that phil had said something to david bruchu going through the line that can't be repeated on this forum. ya thats WAY better class

SO Westerhaus punching the Stillwater goalie in the side of the head early in the first period is OKAY and VERY CLASSY? Also if memory serves Timmy continued to play, but Stillwaters Senior Dman that was slashed in the 3rd period and missed the rest of the game was okay also? So Westerhaus trying to "Slew-foot" a Stillwater player everytime they hooked up was classy stuff.
Don't talk smack about stuff you have no clue about go back to wearing your green face paint and being a little cheerleader in the stands....just think you are on your way to becoming the next pistol!

Well, I guess the same can be said of Willard Ikola - They coud just thrown a houndstooth hat a monkey for all those years. Yeah, you have to have talent to begin with, but to get everyone to accept their roles, and play as a team is a whole different thing. If they were in fact a bunch of Prima donnas, they would not play as a team, and be able to have the success they have had under Lechner

No the same could not be said about Ikola. He had kids that grew up in Edina playing for Edina. Not a whole line from the Stillwater A Bantam team and 2 of the top 5 from Cottage Grove and 2 of the top from Woodbury throw in a top from Mahtomedi and a couple from WBL and you have yourself a team that would be pretty successsful and pretty easy to coach.GreekChurch wrote:polverine wrote:Like a said, a Monkey could coach good players that turn their backs on former teammates from Stillwater, WBL, Park, Woodbury, Roseville etc. etc. it's gone on for 40 years.... First of all that is what you do to a young inexperienced goalie, you crash the net to keep his head off saving the puck. Wilson is a very talented and well positioned player. He is an experienced leader who scores goals in big games. You obviously were not at the last few games Stillwater played. Wilson scored key goals and he is not afraid to throw his weight around. It was voted on by the team, everybody on that team respects the decision of making him assistant captain. As for all you people who believe coach Lechner is a good coach, think twice. Helen Keller could coach a team of allstars to the state tournament. Hill-Murray ruins high school hockey and all the east metro programs. You notice 5 of the 6 starting players for Hill Murray all played in the Stillwater association, what a joke. Yet the paper still says "Hill Murray overcoming adversity" how about stillwater losing 7 players to Hill and one allstar to Juniors, that is overcoming adversity. Congrats on a great season Ponies, putting the program on the map.pucker15 wrote:how is tyring to injur the goalie after the whistle WAY better class then hill. wilson is a god awful hockey player and probably the least talented on the team he purposlet tried to run timmy then played it off like he wasnt trying anything... an how he is assistant captain i will never know. and coach housley doesnt have so much class either because i had heard from some friends on the hill team that phil had said something to david bruchu going through the line that can't be repeated on this forum. ya thats WAY better class

actually 3 of the stillwater kids but that is beside the point. They play in the Stillwater association their whole life, they grow up wearing Stillwater pony uniforms. So maybe you should put that in your "grand scheme of things."youngblood08 wrote:none of the stillwater kids.sachishi4 wrote:how many of these kids have been going to private school there whole life though? Lets not forget Ben Bahe's little shennanigans on the ice. The trash talking and slashing, very classy... Also Hill Murray's celebbration where Bahe hits his former teammate(Mike Kruetzfeld) in the back. I guess Hill-Murray tradition of "Class" was put to the test last night.youngblood08 wrote:SO Westerhaus punching the Stillwater goalie in the side of the head early in the first period is OKAY and VERY CLASSY?
