Hey Fred: Nice writeup on the D9 play-offs! You are still mad that your Albert Lea team once again was knocked out of the play-in game by a B1 team? If you wanted to play Rochester Red, you could have scheduled a game or two during the District scheduling meeting. I'm sure you would have gotten way better! All of the D9 associations agree Rochester should not be in D9. Use your influence and get Rochester kicked out of D9 and back into D8 where they belong!
Until that time, D9 is not the place for Rochester's Red team. To force 15 games on teams that can't put 5 shots on goal in a game does nobody any good. That's why only Mankato wants to play the Red teams. Northfield did too but found not getting even one single shot on goal the entire game wasn't much of a learning experience.
Get your facts straight! You come off as a disgruntled Albert Lea rube!

All I can say was this was a joke and S. St. Paul Association should be embarassed on how this was run, and D8 should have been more aware of what was going on.Rusty Blades wrote:Eastview 1

Woodbury vs Eastview for the last D8 ticket to Regionals
To have both Hastings and Farmington come back after huge semi-final games in less than 3 hours while the team they now had to play had almost 8 hours between games in wrong.
In the only tournament that mean anything to have such un-equity is terrible. To end kids season's without gving them a fair chance is brutal.
I am not saying that Eastview or Woodbury were not capable of winning their games. To me the difference between games of 8 hours to 3 is unfair and wrong.
I would think that Eastview and Woodbury would want to beat those teams on a even playing field or at least close.
I looked at all the other D8 brackets for other levels and there was no other bracket that had this large of a difference between the teams playing in those same games.
I have no issue if you want the gap to be 3 hours between games then make it 3 hours or close for both teams not just one.
Hard to see kids crying knowing they are done when you know that the playing field was not even.

I agree, however, the biggest joke was the D6 playoff bracket and how three teams qualify for regions on one win. They definitely made it difficult, if not impossible for any team seeded 5th or below to make it. Chaska/Chan went 4-2 and did not make it after losing its sixth game to Edina (which went 1-1).Gotothenetman wrote:All I can say was this was a joke and S. 11 team league
Edina 12-4, 3rd place, 3 seed
Chaska 4-11-1, 9th place, 9 seed
Please explain why the seeding should have been different or why the brackets should be set to provide such different records with identical paths to regions.
It appears Edina earned the right to advance with 1 win and Chaska still needed to prove themselves. They had a nice playoff run. Congrats to them.
Well said Spin. You earn your region birth with a nice regular season and a nice win or two in the district playoffs.spin-o-rama wrote:Let's see:crazyhorse wrote: I agree, however, the biggest joke was the D6 playoff bracket and how three teams qualify for regions on one win. I wouldn't call it official until District 8 confirms it but I'm 99.99 % sure that's who you will see at the East Regional.
Woodbury beat Eastview 3-2 in 3OT
