I’d assume Elk should win out with the teams they are playing and grab the 4 seed once the tiebreaker happensalcloseshaver wrote:If ER wins out they should get the 4 seed based on overall winning %. Whether DM gets the 4 or 5 you are likely to see their road jerseys when they play in the semis at Amsoil.hockey59 wrote:Hoping ER gets the 4th seed so I can see DM road jersey at least one more time this season!alcloseshaver wrote:If ER wins out they should get the 4 seed based on overall winning %. CEC would have to go to Rapids and lose to not be at 3. Are they dialed in Knivvsy?kniven wrote:Wow. Coming down to the final week. This QRF thing is stressfull. 3, 4, and 5 seeds are still wide open. I could see Elk moving into the 3 spot. 4-5 Marshall and CEC like clockwork every year. But who will be home is the question for the QF game. 2/16 is when we will know I guess.

I hope Cloquet decides to be the team they are capable of being for the rest of the year. Just don't be the team that beats East in the section final only to get skated out of the building in the state quarters by St. Thomas 9-0. If you're gonna play good and win 7AA, go to St. Paul and do some damage. Otherwise I just hope East can go down there and keep the title in 7AA.

Yes. The boys are 100% healthy. We beat Proctor 6-0 so that was nice. I guess I’m not holdin my breath. In Grand Rapids, rivalry game and Holum.....we are walking into a trap. Rapids was beat by a lesser team 4-1 last year and they got the three seed. CEC could loose this game easily. I’m not going to assume anything.
I totally agree DJ.....TheHockeyDJ wrote:I hope Cloquet decides to be the team they are capable of being for the rest of the year. Hmmmmmm. Interesting news. Moorhead and Andover have removed CEC from their schedules for next year and beyond. Who makes these decisions: Coaches, AD, parents, players. etc. Is it a process/vote to remove a team from a schedule or just a decision by one person. I liked playing these 2 programs..... =(

We are at the end of the 2 year cycle and they will rework the sections in all sports. If Hermantown moves up most likely Andover and or Elk River might be out of 7AA. Schools don't know where they will end up though. If they vote to continue use QRF section games aren't as critical and that might be a factor.
Thanks for the feedback ALc...alcloseshaver wrote:We are at the end of the 2 year cycle and they will rework the sections in all sports. I hear what you are saying, Greenway. It’s unfortunate. Sections can be pretty lame if you don’t play any section games. We’ve never played Elk River in the regular season and now no Andover.greenwayraider wrote:I find it puzzling that a section opponent (Andover) would opt out of playing Cloquet.
ps. it would be really nice if 7AA was all northern teams! Kick Elk, Andover, Flake, C/I, and saint franny out on their keisters
Moorhead to Cloquet is at least a 4 hour drive. Might be more road time than they are willing to spend.kniven wrote:I was told the AD from Moorhead and Andover contacted CEC. I'm sure those programs have their reasons. Like I said, I sure enjoyed playing those squads!

Agreed. Especially if they can’t get in a Friday/Saturday game on the swing. CEC went to Moorhead this year playing Virginia Friday and then to Moorhead Saturday. Oh well.

Doubt it; Moorhead is keeping road games to Rapids and East.Goose21 wrote:Moorhead to Cloquet is at least a 4 hour drive. Andover- rumor on street for this one is CEC head coach can look in mirror and take the credit. Behavior toward officials on JV and varsity bench didn't help.
