WBL was terrible tonight. Gentry capitalized.
WBL has no urgency in their game after the first 5 minutes. Missed the net on the few chances they had. Team speed difference was evident. Bears shortened the bench way too early and has nothing left from midway 2nd and on. Unfortunate night to put up an all time stinker for WBL

Agree . We were there & from the get-go, Gentry out-hustled, out-played, and outsmarted WBL. Been a few years but I remember how they roared to the A title I believe in their 1st year and moved up to AA. The girls did the same.mnpuckster wrote: ↑Fri Feb 27, 2026 9:41 pm WBL was terrible tonight. Gentry capitalized.

Speaking of moving up, now that Hermantown is missing the tournament 2 years in a row, do you think the A competition might make them finally make the move to AA ?

Re: Section 4AA final
A few thoughts on Gentry Academy after watching 3 games. They are fast, play smart, make good reads, are physical despite having a size disadvantage. They also don’t take stupid penalties.
Their centers cheat on faceoffs.
Yes it’s a down year for the usual top teams in 4AA, but the Stars outplayed all three teams to get to state. Yes White Bear shortened their bench, but from what I saw that was the only chance they had to get back in the game.
They are playing with house money and their game against Minnetonka will be one of the more interesting matchups on Thursday.

Not sure WBL won a draw all night. #9 lost every face-off and seemed a little disinterested at the dot.
This wasn't WBLs most talented group by any means, but was the worst loss ( especially the way the game went) with the new coaching staff.
Gentry played well, but let's not get carried away acting like they are world beaters. WBL should win that game, period. Minnetonka will put them into running time.

Now if I had said that, it'd be called 'sour grapes".mnpuckster wrote: ↑Sat Feb 28, 2026 4:37 pm Not sure WBL won a draw all night. #9 lost every face-off and seemed a little disinterested at the dot.

Grapes are certainly sour, I'll admit.
But HM beats them 9/10 and wbl 7/10
Gentry played great, hats off to them, but that doesn't negate the fact WBL looked like a C Bantam team last night. Unacceptable, especially from the group behind the bench. Outclassed. Maybe Anderson isn't the answer. If 18 and or 9 leave , it may be time to move on from him.
