Re: A stupid way to look at PWb1 hockey

Just an FYI that doesn't really change your analysis- I believe Roseville has already defeated Stillwater Black in the Woodbury Tourney.

There more than 5 or 6 Section 8 and 5 kids on both lists. How does that work? If given a choice, which one?

Having attended last night's games almost makes me hesitant to pay for seats at the Xcel. The bar has been set pretty high. "Say it ain't so", but not sure fans will see better games the rest of this season than we have seen in Sections.

[Since when is it up to the coaches to call the ambulances? It's not their decision to make the phone call. It's the trainers job to make the call if they can't handle whats going on at the rink. Get real. Phil Housley had 19 other guys to try to prepare for the rest of the game, not to worry about ...

CFM, is that all you got? A supposedly ugly goal in the first 6 weeks of this kids Varisty career against a top 10 team at the Excel? I think we're all a little further down the road. If Mueller plays like he can, Dettling lights it up like he can, and the D stays out of the box, WB will be reliving...

If I could choose I would take Roseville. Less than great goal tending. The only teams that beat Hill this season. The goal tenders had big games. And from what I understand about Roseville that is not a possibility. Anything can happen on any given day, and it is never about one player, but I have...

WB did have a pretty vocal organized group. If you're going for quantity and not quality - WB could be your winner. It doesn't get much more clever than using 'RAPE' as a root for your team. Just wondering if that goes over big at the girls' games too?

2-2 is not a rape. 5-0 just might be - remember that one? Talk about your Podabing(ski).

Truly a game for tv fans. They couldn't have scripted it any better. Got a realistic look at Phillipi today. Not quite the same game as what he's use to. Too bad for both the goalies, one of them had to get the 'L'. Lechner is one class act the way he came across today. Loved the "ugly goal&quo...

#4 in the Woodbury game was an empty netter.

My apologies to Wigen. Should have looked at Pointstreak, too, not just MaxPreps.

Still doesn't change Podabinski's stats.

And, it sure doesn't make this match up any less interesting.

Both of these goalies have shown their ability to keep their teams in the game. For a goalie, it can be any given day and how the defense is clicking. But Podobinski is anything but inconsistent if you look at the stats. His worst game was 4 goals the first game of the season, (first ever varsity?) ...

Bears scored 2 early in the 2nd period.
Roseville scored late in the 3rd to tie it up.
Both teams had their share of box time.

Mueller vs. Eddy is no contest when Mueller is on his game and the rest of that first line moves with him. Wondering if Roseville is underutilizing their defense with the dump and chase strategy. Better use of them at the point might add an interesting element to the mix. Continue to be impressed wi...

If anyone thinks Housley doesn't wield undue influence, then explain how a team that wasn't projected to (didn't) crack into the top 4 spots of their conference gets 2 FSN games in one season and a team appearance on HS Sports Wrap? Not even Edina or Hill has pulled that off, and they've led their c...

If the Raiders get on the scoreboard first with one (or two) before getting any penalties, and the goalie plays as solid as last time, Roseville will get the win.

I'm not understanding the "infatuation" with the FLake goalie, unless you exclude consistency and being in position. All those (sometimes unnecessarily) acrobatic saves sure do get him noticed, and granted he has risen to the occasion, with the ample opportunity he's been given, to make hi...
